Expanding Fronts is a massive modification for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds aimed to breathe life back into the classic LucasArts strategy game by adding various new units, features, and gameplay elements. Each of the 8 civilizations are being reworked and enhanced to make each feel more unique and authentic to the universe, while maintaining the classic Battlegrounds gameplay. In addition, the Scenario Editor is being filled with hundreds of new units, buildings, effects, triggers, and objects to allow campaign and scenario designers more freedom than ever before.

Maybe that's a new buildingset for the Confederacy, the Geonosian structures were outdated...
I don't think so. Doesn't fit the style of the CIS as seen in Ep. III, the tv shows, etc. It's too geometric and bland in color. Zann Consortium, maybe? Would be strange though if a crime syndicate was better equipped than a galactic rebellion movement.

The yellow makes me think Zann Consortium, as does the structure style slightly, but I highly doubt anything like that would be included.

It looks too sharp and geometric for the CIS. If you look at CIS buildings and ships from Ep. III and the TV series, it's a lot more curvy and insectoid, closer to Trade Federation than Geonosian. I suspect a whole new faction, as why would CIS holdouts the empire's already been fighting for some time be an "unusual sighting"?

It's possible. A more concrete hint would be given if it was possible to know what those rifles in the building are...
