Korriban to Moraband image - Star Wars - Clone Wars mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
This is a total conversion mod for Empire at War / Forces of Corruption. It takes place right after the Battle of Geonosis in "Attack of the Clones". Replacing the Empire, Rebels and Zann Consortium with the Galactic Republic and Seperatist Alliance along with The Hutt Cartel, Pirates and Neutral Worlds.
It was a difficult choice because of my love of The Old Republic but I will be renaming Korriban to Moriband. Lucas Studios has already revealed that the planets are the same but Korriban is referred to as Moriband during the Clone Wars era. It is also referred to as Pesegam during the reign of Xim in 25000 BBY. Many other planets in Star Wars have also had different names in different periods of time including Coruscant, originally called Notron so it doesn't seem like a big deal to me although I know their will be some inflexible fans who will bitch.

I agree. Lucas has made a lot of dumb *** choices in many of his projects. Even the remake of the movies have had things that some fans are like WTF. The clone wars had many things done that were unnecessary and actually could have been done in a way that would tie in with other EU and still resulted in the same story. Who knows what George is thinking anymore. This was also an unecessary change on his part simply because he likes the name better but at least this doesn't change anything just what they call the planet in this era.
I hate what the Clone Wars did to the Mando's. Completely disregarded all established lore for them and made them all about peace and love.
I have written on this extensively. The New Mandalorians are a faction of the True Mandalorians, a faction that believed they could offer the galaxy more by building on there superior technological expertis and getting away from the old war mongering ways. The mandalorian civil war and a Republic bombardment of the planet allowed the movement become popular with the general population because of the massive amount of dead warriors and the horror of the planet being turned from thick jungle to barren desert. Darth Maul was able to exploit the weakness these ideals created and turn the general population against the pacifist by showing them how weak they had become. The Mandlorians have only a decade of peace in several thousands of years of history. Thats less than a generation of people. The pacifist have now been massacred, another bloody civil war has been started leaving Mandalore vulnerable to a new leader coming in which should be Spar once the war ends. No continuity error here

well to apply a bandaid to the wounds of the name changing maybe put a file in a seperate folder that says "for the names we all know and love place this file in this folder here." hit yes to accept changes" or something along those lines.
I beleive the mod still has the DAT editor in the text folder. With this you guys can change the name back to Korriban. The text entry is TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_KORRIBAN

Considering it. The idea of a city with Snow mountains all around is intriguing to me.

Well, I'm pretty sure the Sith colonized Korriban from (Ziost? Somewhere else?) and it merely became their capital, and later recognized as "homeworld"...but seriously, this retcon is just plain stupid. They literally tweaked the much better name "Korriban" into "Moriband" -_-
On a side note: So pre-Clone Wars everyone refers to it as "Korriban", sometime later before the Clone Wars start some idiot makes a typo and the WHOLE GALAXY recognizes the planet under a new name, then everyone promptly forgets after the Clone Wars end? Not buying it...Names from antiquity are one thing (Coruscant = Notron, Rakata Prime = Lehon, Empress Teta = Koros Major), but they don't change for a season...
Ya its a change that makes no sense and I am sure their were writers sitting their listening to George and wanting to reach out and slap him. But as the mod is based on the show I am obliged to make the change to match.
Makes sense in mod context, haha. Really as long as Wookieepedia still says "Korriban" I'm good...I'm gonna have to bite something to stay silent watching those episodes though. XD

George Lucas was present at every episode story development for the show. Dave Filoni is the guy who manages all the elements to make a show. The Writers and George Lucas write the story and George has final say on everything. Now with Rebels and George being retired that may be very different but if you watch every behind the scenes video of The Clone Wars you will see George Lucas involved. This is one thing I have had to point out to several people who curse dave Filoni as the Star wars anti-Christ. George Lucas made MOST of the things that fans have not liked about the show.
well think you for explain that, i really enjoy this mod so. But yea as told i just got curious about all that moraband-korriban stuff as i play swtor as well where its korribban, like all the other time periods. but anyways it's some really nice work that has been done so far. xD
Can you give us the choice of what it should be called? (As in two files which we can download and chose between)
Further down the line, would it be possible to add a Tech 6 to the republic? In this tech era, the planet Ringo would become available and it would certain objectives, sort've like a mission. Also making Tup available is always good (:

So if you guys hate Lucas so much, calling him ******* etc., why not just stop watching Star Wars?? Star Wars is HIS movie and doesn't belong to you or any EU writers. If you don't approve of his view of Star Wars universe, I suggest making a "perfect" sci-fi movie yourselves.
I don't bash Lucas but I understand the hatred towards him. To me he's just a great visionary and creator, not a good story writer or story teller. He's not Christopher Nolan. If Lucas was good, Star Wars would have been a perfect franchise long ago.
Star Wars does not belong to George Lucas. Have you seen his original drafts for the OT? They were absolute garbage. Those films only turned into the massive success they were because there were people around (Gary Kurtz, Irvin Kershner), to tell George to shut up whenever he started spouting his awful ideas.
It's BECAUSE everybody gives credit solely to George for writing 'STAR WARS' on a sheet of paper - instead of the tons of editors/writers/directors that actually did all the work - that he was given free reign over the prequels, which turned out to be a complete train wreck because he surrounded himself with yes-men puppets that wouldn't question him.

In the time of the (literally)first Sith Lords, the ones who left the jedi, and fled to Korriban, taking over and merging with the Sith species, it was called Korriban. In the time of Revan, and the Mandalorian Wars/ Jedi Civil War, it was called Korriban. In the time of the Hero of Tython, and the Great Galactic War, it was called Korriban. In the time of the Galactic Civil War, it was called Korriban. So seriously... Where does this "trivia guide" get its information? Out of Lucas' rear end?
