Based on the 2003- 2004 Miniseries by Genndy Tartakovsky ( who also did Samuri Jack), the Star Wars: Clone Wars Submod offers content from the Miniseries that was removed from the original mod, as well as brand new content. Now you can command massive armies along with your favorite heros and villains from the classic miniseries that beautifully covered some of the events between Episodes II and III. Fight Ventress in the hot- steamy jungles of Yavin IV, save the Jedi Enclave from total destruction on the icy world of ILum or simply crush your enemies with shear military might.

Features include but are not limited to:

Cartoon style models (mostly heros and infantry)
Episode 2 and 3 models for Anakin and Obi-Wan
New Hero Abilities
New Heros (such as Muunilist 10 and Aiwha Squad to name a few)
New Vehicles (such as Seismic Tank and SPHA-T)
New Animations
Larger Battles (both land and space)

Possible Features:
Campain Mode (still being debated on) - The campain would allow you to choose either the Republic or CIS and play through the events from the beginning of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 to the end of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2.

It's Been A While

So it's been a long time since I even touched this mod and a lot has happened since the last release. Lots of personal stuff. I had my heart broken and fell into a deep depression and sort of lost interest in all the things I used to enjoy. I just stopped caring about everything and as a result this mod was neglected... severely.


However, things have been looking up; I found a good woman who's been helping me get back on my feet and I've retaken up some of my old hobbies. So I want to start modding again. With that being said, I have decided to release everything that we had done from November. It's not exactly the “Clone Wars Submod 2.0” grand release that I was fantasizing about a year ago but I suppose it will do for now.


I still lack the resources to make this mod into what it could be, what I want it to be, but I can however, make it “nice and perty” and with the help of my more coding apt friends, add new game play elements. So, no fancy schmancy new models is what I'm trying to get at here.


You can expect the release of the Star Wars: Clone Wars Sub Mod 2.0-ish version sometime next week.

How high is it possible to make the battlefield zoom-out?
What I'm actually asking is, could you zoom-out the battlefield to the
space level (when zooming-out, you zoom at the highest point currently
available, and then the new zoom is in the space)? So space battles
would actually be land battles with space units on a (very) higher
level.

And if that isn't possible, then maybe something like this:
No zooming out to space available but instead it would be switching
between land and space (with loading screen and everything) that would
work like this: when in space battle, if you have land units present,
you could order them to land and when you want, you could immediately
go to the land battle. When you swich between modes, the current progress in battle is saved and you can swich back to the battle at any time.
The important factor would be time, so if you finish the land mode before
the space mode, the planet is conquered no matter how the space battle
works out. On the Republic side, LAATs would directly deploy from acclamators and venators carrying infantry and vehicles (like seen in micro-series) and CIS would use Hardcell and C9979 transports. Heroes that have their personal transports could even go from land battle to space.

Is any of that possible?

the problem with zooming out that far is, there is something called a skydome which is like a bubble that goes around the map. i once experimented with map editor and made a 20x20 map and even the largest skydome in the map editor could not wrap around it. the skydome is what has all of the stars and clouds so it looks like your in space or on a planet and if you extend the map beyond these skydomes, you could potentially move your units outside of the skydome and see nothing but blue. if you zoom out far enough with no camera restrictions, you can see beyond the limits of the map which then doesn't look natural.

now as for the simultaneous land-space battles. that would require major modifications to the engine, something a first time modder such as myself could not even fathom how to do. even if I could do this, there would have to be a loading screen if you enter the planets atmosphere from space. Even in Star Wars Battlefront: Elite squadron, a game which did have the simultaneous land-space battle feature had a cut scene that played whenever you entered the planet's atmosphere or vise-versa to load the map. Also you gotta remember that this game EAW is almost 10 years old

I am aware of skydome. I didn't mean to zoom gradually. I meant that after you zoom to the current available zoom, the next zoom-out is in space.

I wrote "with loading screen".
Yeah, I've got the idea from Elite Squardon.

Actually FOC is less than 6 years old.

Well I tought that it would be hard, but wanted to ask anyway. It would be mindblowing to see a mod with this feature.

it would indeed certainly be worthy of MODY. im not after MODY though. i simply wish to deliver a top quality mod based off of the clone wars miniseries.

You guys should definitely add some more changes to the UI. The old one is too bland and makes me feel like I'm playing FoC. Add and change the elements to the UI so people feel like they are playing a totally new game.

we already have a new ui in the works. that's what i was working on for the months where i wasn't getting any new models. now that im getting new models left and right, my focus has shifted. but i will finish the UI

worst mod ever 1. no proper balance 2. republic has weak ships and weak ground units 3. Gc maps maps are so sucky oh lets make a good mod and make glitches out GC maps for it 4. crashes half ways through games and makes you restart 5.CIS units many republic units **** all a cis corvett can take out a capital ships 6.balance issues to the core 7 jedi should also have big ships to command not just small ****** ships that driods rip through 8 is it going to take you another year to fix this **** or…
