"Star Wars Battlefront United" will feel like it's part of the game, as if Pandemic actually released it.

The goal is to convert all Star Wars Battlefront I maps for Star Wars Battlefront II along with the appropriate game modes, the entire BF1 campaign with the original sides, and the merge of the converted maps with galactic conquest! Other changes include, proper descriptions for the converted maps, white map names in the instant action menu, BF2 style mini-maps rather than BF1, and new high quality loadscreens for both BF2 and BF1 maps. Everything included will be packed into one addon folder to reduce clutter. The final result will be incredible!

Following the completion of the mod, all final assets will be released to the community for everyone to use, just as Pandemic did for us so many years ago. This enables the community to easily create their own side mods, custom missions, game modes, and modified "Star Wars Battlefront I" stock maps using perfected map conversions without the hassle of converting the maps themselves!

O-O It has been a year hasn't it! Hopefully Glitch can update the progress soon, we have been working on the project in a few ways. Recently most of the work we have done has been testing different things with the menu so that we can easily create the BF1 campaign menus, which has been quite successful so far. (Don't worry, the next update should have a bit of map work + screenies ;) )

There are already a couple conversion packs actually. Most conversions have a twist to the maps such as extra classes, changed textures, different eras, different game modes, and so on. With Battlefront United the map is the focus, even to the smallest details if possible. For example recently we've completed Kamino: Tipoca City (I apologize for how slow we come out with updates) we spent a lot of time correcting one mesh just because it had an inconsistency with BF1. We even attempt to accurately position the lights (and lighting color) as in battlefront 1 (now not to say that we will get everything completely right but we will try to get it as close as possible). Along with consistency with bf1 we aim for consistency with bf2, this means white map names (even for v1.1, v1.0 not tested yet), proper map descriptions, bf2 style mini-maps, loadscreens, using the bf2 vehicles that replaced the bf1 ones at correct vehicle spawns, and game modes from the stock bf2 such as ctf or hunt. We will also be converting the battlefront 1 campaign (which will use converted bf1 sides) and galactic conquest.

Finally, once everything is complete we will release all the assets for other modders to use for... whatever really. :)

So really we want to create a conversion that is as accurate to Battlefront as possible and not add a lot of extra stuff that you may not want. We also want to keep it simple so that other modders can easily add there mods to it without having any mission or map related issues. :)

what about the naboo tank that the rebels had in swbf1 and the clone gunship that fires green lasers istead of blue ones, will these vehicles be converted aswel or not?

Well, I appreciate what you are doing for this mod, but I have one question regarding it. Will it also have the "501st" campaign from Star Wars Battlefront 2, along with the galactic conquest maps from said game and maps (land and space) from it, like Utapau, Felucia, and Mustafar? I would like to know. Thanks.
