Greetings people of Moddb. As you know, for the past month we've been running a contest to decide a couple of map entries for Tides of War. We recieved a total of 29 entries for this competition, more than we ever thought we would recieve. Thank you to all who participated, please know that if we could, we would turn every one of these ideas into a map. However, we had to choose our two winners. Congratulations to our victors, evengidb and AUS_Doug! Their three ideas will be made into two maps, with one map being a combination of two of them. The winning ideas are:

The Spice Mines of Kessel (evengidb)

Star Destroyer: Interior (AUS_Doug):

Sarlaac: Interior (evengidb):

Congratulations once again to our lucky winners. And now, I would like to take a moment and recognize the runners-up:
Coruscant City by Karriz, and Nighttime Felucia by 411Remnant.

Gee, this is lookin' good. Once the big battle maps like Belderone and Saleucami start coming out, that's just gonna be awesome.

Hey guys, I've been Pre-Alpha testing the mod, and it would probably be good to write up a quick review.
Classes(skins, weapons, etc.)-
The weapon modifications are a nice touch, the orbital strike beacon is certainly a laugh. I will say that they tend to be OP. It may or may not be a good thing, but beyond that it creates a pro unit loadout, (i.e. Clone Commando). Same goes for secondary. Concussion grenades are fine, even if they seem like regular 'nades. Not much of a change, but these are obviously good (i sound stupid :P). On the other hand, Heros have some good combos added in. Way better modified than compared to the stock, I love what's been done to the lightsabers. Much fun factor.
Maps-
One of the most remarkable maps, probably Cholgonna. It's amazingly difficult; but that just makes it even better. Feels like Felucia with its dense terrain/vegetation, so fighting the enemy turns into FINDING them; vegetation is THICK. Another great map is Boz Pity; choose the rebel side if you want an additional challenge. Both sides spawn virtually side-by-side, and the empire gets all of the vehicles. It is surprisingly difficult. :P

That really covers the mod features AT THE MOMENT; more content to be revealed, and more to come. The mod overall gets an 7.5 out of 10. Since it's only Pre-Alpha, this has waaaay too many bugs. Besides that, there's really just more needed; not polished. Then, it IS pre-alpha; like I said, more to be revealed and more to come. Thank you, ARC_Troopa_Nate, for letting me Pre-Alpha test and check out the BFE mod.

I shall be back for Alpha testing!

Have you considered doing a Clone or droid campaign. Plenty of people have already done campaigns focusing on the rebels and a few on the empire. Though maybe doing a clone campaign would be most beneficial.

EliteSniper and I have done some thinking and we have a plan, the first part of the campaign will be from the Republic, the second part will be from the Rebels Point of view.

Do you try to improve the graphics as well? You could try to add better textures or objects with more details and polys and so on or even, if you are very good, try to add some new effects like sunflare :D

About your comment, all custom models will have more detail and such, but I don't think we're going to take the time to redo all the stock models. Also, sunflare is not a new effect. It is present on stock Mos Eisley, and just comes from setting up a sun and directional light.

Yes, I will be using better textures, I'm planning on having HD textures for all of the stock maps and our new maps.

You have an audio problem. Plug a pair of headphones into the microphone jack of your PC, and it should solve the problem. I know it sounds crazy, but I had the exact same problem, and it worked for me.
