That incredible texture! Must be the best texture of acclamator ever!

To be fair, the Escort Carrier seems like it was designed around the hanger, and everything else was an afterthought. The prototype might have just been the hanger facility from an ISD with some engines bolted on. And as I recall it was designed in response to increased anti shipping activity by the rebels and pirates.

It doesn't look at all like an ISD hangar so I find that unlikely. Either way, it's pretty irrelevant to our choice; ingame it's still the same effect (with a few differences that work out in the Acclamator's favour), but one is significantly uglier than the other.

I always like the Acclamator, works very well in the pre-ISD era and works just as well in the Imperial era. Great job on the texture. :D

Will the Venator still have a large fighter support role like the escort carrier did?

The Acclamator is taking the carrier role. There is no Venator though.

But how can the Acclamator be a carrier if it only has a drop hatch for deploying gunships and a logistics hanger?

Wookiepedia claims that some were converted into fighter carriers, capable of carrying more than 2 wings of fighters. It normally carries 80 LAAT gunships, 48 AT-TEs, and 36 SPHA vehicles, in addition to 16,000 troops and support personnel, with appropriate facilities for all. Replacing this with a hanger for 2 wings of fighters and their required personnel is quite possible, and you have to figure that if they're going to go through the trouble of turning an amphibious assault ship (look it up on Wikipedia) into a carrier, they're going to make sure that the fighters aboard can leave the ship in an orderly fashion

Oh you're right, I forgot about the Battle of Mon Calamari and stuff in the Clone Wars mini series, I feel so stupid that was my favorite series.

This is a carrier variant. There were definitely Acclamators modified to serve carrier roles, and considering they were holdovers from several years beforehand, the ones that stuck around would tend to be modified (much like dreadnaughts were).

While we're on the subject, I'm going to guess that there will be two wings totalling 144 ties of assorted types, likely with 2 squadrons being tie bombers, 2 or 4 squadrons being tie interceptors, and the rest being your basic tie fighters. Am I at least close here?

The total number of fighter supply is more or less correct. However in Sins you get to choose what types of fighters you use.

Lol. Now I have to learn how to play sins.
Looks like I'm gonna spam tie interceptors

I have to say I'm disappointed I love the EC I used it so much I would frequently have 1 ISD around 3-4 ECs and a few smaller cruisers the sheer number of fighters they put out was massive and just over whelming.

Keep in mind that this isn't ICW; what it means to be a carrier is different. The Escort Carrier wouldn't have put out any more fighters at a single time than the Acclamator will.

Hmm interesting I did not know that I honestly only bought Rebellion just for this mod thats the only reason. I stopped playing it and the SOSE because the combat system is terrible the size and engine is amazing but the way it does combat is very depressing I've seen a ssd take forever to knock a cruiser out.

and even more so that there's no Venator I loved it I really did it worked even in Latest era things were beastly and fun but nice work on the model it does look beautiful I look forward to playing this sometime hopefully and a carrier Acclamator does seem like a lot of fun :)

Description

Our original plan was to use the Escort Carrier as the Imperial carrier and have the MTC as some weird hybrid carrier/utility ship. However, we ultimately decided that the Escort Carrier was pretty visually uninteresting and the MTC couldn't quite be what we wanted it to, so we replaced them both with the carrier variant of the Acclamator I.
