Desura probably put it in the wrong folder. It should be in
AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-Diplomacy v1.37

I know this probably shouldn't belong here, but when I play as the Borg, I almost immediately get destroyed, and it takes so long to expand and solidify my status as a powerful entity (like the Borg should be).
Does anyone have any tips that could assist me? (Besides not sucking :p)

Instead of going civilian research go military, keep ur first lab and research the volcanic and ice planet research, then get military research only. Focus on hull research and spam planet assimilators. A fleet of planet assimilators are pretty much unstoppable if you do the hull research. Use them as a mobile wall shielding ur forward planets slowly expanding. When ready click them all to go explore and replace them with cubes as you Loose the frigates. Then you got yourself an invasion force ready to strike and a lot of frigates disbanding the enemy force forcing them to dividing their army all over their planets. send in 1-3 cubes to clear out local forces and the planet is yours. it Works against a team of 3 enemies trying to bring you Down together. Any more Allied units and it wont Work, then you expand too slowly this way.

Putting this out there; my friends, relatives and I spend a lot of time playing your mod (all factions) would you like me to send you a bug list I have compiled in my head from our games? I also spend a lot of time playing all the factions against varying conditions and have some balance adjustments in mind I would like to trial. Where would i find the files to edit ship stats and abilities(might need to make a few too)?

Yes, and GameInfo.

Ships are named CAPITALSHIP_etc and Frigateetc. It shouldn't be a problem to figure out which is which, abilities are referenced in the ship files, just follow the file trails to see what needs changed.

Note, if they're gibberish, they'll need converted to text, The files required are included in each applicable directory, simply copy the files from gameinfo into the convertdata folder and run _Entity_BIN-2-TXT.

Do not bin the entire file set, convertdata.exe is broken and doesn't work on ship spawn files calling required ships.

Delete the skybox background meshes, and textures in the mod. That should restore the vanilla sins backgrounds. Make sure you back up the mod just in case you screw it up.
