Design Doc & Demo Script

E:TCW is a total overhaul (or conversion) of the award-winning "Half-Life 2" computer game, based on the latest installment of the Star Trek saga, "Enterprise". Our goal is to produce a sci-fi mod that is based on:
- Dynamic character driven format with intense problem solving tasks
- Diplomatic missions
- And the demanding Federation-style combat operations Trekkers have all wanted to be part of in a computer game.
GAMEPLAY:
We will be using the existing perspective of play that the HL2 game provides, yet we will include a non-linear, multiple choice action for certain events to alter the outcome of each mission. Therefore, the mod will be highly mission-based (and story-based), and each mission will have a total number of areas to explore, and objectives to complete.
TRUE TO THE SERIES?
We are all big fans of the show, therefore (of course) we are trying to keep the actual style of the series as faithful as possible, but with adding extra events and objectives to complete - of course without wrecking the franchise.
E:TCW is made by a group of talented developers in their spare time. The main rule of modification development is that one can never have enough people working on a project like that. :) The same applies to this mod as well. So, if you have found the mod interesting, and would like to contribute in its making, and are experienced in
please contact us on our forum in the Recruitment section and support our cause in saving the Federation! :)
Thank you for reading the summary, Give Long and Often! ;)

Yes, it is over. After my resignation as Mod Leader, the interest for the mod dropped to an all time low. I felt that after the hard work and effort that had been contributed to the mod, that all of the assets produced and a working version of what we had should at least be released.
We have also added ALL of the model assets, textures and source coding files for those to use as they would like. Please give credit to those who produced them. Other than that, it would be great to see them used in a new mod, or in a Machinima project. I know there are a couple of German indie game and film developers are keen to get their hands on all of the assets and we bid them well with their projects.
I do not see this news as a failure, but as an amazing learning experience that lasted 3 years. In that time, I have learnt an amazing amount about how much work goes into producing a mod/game and have made many friends along the way. The talents of the Design Crew for the mod cannot go unsaid, as you will see in the working proof of concept release. I would to have enjoyed seeing a completed mod, but due to medical issues I personally was unable to continue with the mod, thus my resignation as Captain. I would like to personally thank all of those who contributed to the mod in the Design Crew and those who supported the mod over the past 3 years. Thanks again for the memories.
The main website for the mod will slowly transformed into a Star Trek Enterprise portal for news on movies, games etc so all of the hard work and effort will not be wasted. Unfortunately, I had a hard drive failure and lost all of the .smd files and .qc files for the mod (I would have loved to have give those away as well), which did contribute to the fast track of closing the mod down, since it meant starting from scratch in re-creating the major character versions and new asset compiles.

This is a non complete, Proof Of Concept version of the mod. With several maps to roam around giving a good example of the work produced for the mod...
These are optimised rebuilds of the Enterprise corridors and bulkheads. Models and textures created by Dennis (LordHorusNL) If models are used, please...
Here is a small video of the detail in the latest map "Launchbay" with sound produced by Trent "Basstronix" Robertson and Naomi.

Now you guys need to try to do another Star Trek series like Voyager or even one based on the new Star Trek XI.
Is this mod single player only?
nevermind i just read the news post.. :(
Wow... this looks really good. Enterprise was always my favorite Star Trek series. Too bad that this is dead. Hopefully, maybe, one day it will be picked up again.
So how can I add the weapons to Garry's Mod?
I have no idea. I personally don't use GMod, I have it, but have not used it other than loading it up once. I would suggest reading through the Gmod instructions first, but do a Google search, as I am sure someone would have done something similar before...
Either way, hope you guys win MOTY.
Well, we did not release a completed mod, only a proof of concept demo, but thanks for the support...
is this mod dead?
The last news post explains everything...
