Zero Hour is a Total Conversion for the Star Trek: Armada IITM game. Including four of the existing races, Zero Hour changes game-play and the general gaming experience for all fans of the sega.
As history recalls, in 2344 the Enterprise-C answered a distress call from a Klingon Outpost on Nerendra III. The Enterprise was met by four Romulan Warbirds, and was destroyed. The loss of the ship, and her crew was remembered as heroic. Such the intervention by Starfleet would have had the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire sign their peace treaty, and seize hostilities between the two great powers. History though, can be rewritten, and somewhere, something went terribly wrong

It has been quite some time since there was any real 'official' update for this project, and I doubt there will be another one until some point during 2010. Progress is moving along at a nice steady pace, though there is still a fair amount of work that needs to be done.
First and foremost, the background to the project has changed. This was going to be a project that was set shortly after the destruction of Romulus (would have taken place after the 'news' shared in ST:XI, and the STO plot), of which I'm sure many of you are up to date with? I have since reinvented the plot for Zero Hour though, and it now takes place a little earlier, more specifically, between 2345 and 2370.
What does this mean for you gamers? Quite simply, no Sovereign. The way I look at it, she'd not have been built yet; there is also the prospect that my timeline is actually set out of the typical prime one, so the Sovereign may never come to exist.
I've pretty much had my Cardassian and Federation side complete for some time, though that was setup for the timeline I was going to use. I will however be changing my Federation fleet in due course because of this. I've already found a replacement for the Sovereign, just need to replace the Luna, and I'll be done. I needn't worry about the Cardassian side, nor should I worry about the Klingon side. I can write their newer ships into play quite easily. If anything, it is the Romulan's that'll be a struggle, although I think I've found a nice way around that... My only query is whether or not to include the Norexan (as seen in ST: Nemesis) or not.
Changing the timeline has left me the power to do away with excusing the Dominion and Borg from the project. Q won't get involved and introduce Picard to the Collective, and the Bajoran Wormhole won't be discovered.
That's me done anyway, am leaving you with some new screenshots (see media), so until next time...
