Fleet Operations is a popular skirmish and multiplayer orientated total conversion modification for Activision's real-time strategy game Star Trek Armada II. The project's goal was not only to create a simple "modification" but as total conversion to make Armada II a worth successor to the second best selling Star Trek game Star Trek: Armada (behind Interplay's Star Trek: 25th Anniversary by a small, but fair margin). Version 3.0 includes advanced graphics, a whole new user interface, completly replaced ship models, 5 balanced races with totally new gameplay and tons of new possibilities making Armada II a real real-time strategy multiplayer game.

Report RSS New Borg Features

We already discussed the veteran vessels in the past newsposts, but havent talked much about the Borg. The collective will get a large redo in 3.0.6 touching many of the game mechanics. The change you might spot first when playing the new patch as the Borg should be the missing priority resource. It has been replaced by a new one, called Collective Connections. They represent the number of possible connections to the collective, required to operate large Borg vessels.

The change you might spot first when playing the new patch as the Borg should be the missing priority resource. It has been replaced by a new one, called Collective Connections. They represent the number of possible connections to the collective, required to operate large Borg vessels. Collective Connections are used to construct military vessels, just like priority was before, but they are consumed by construction, similar to Supplies. Collective Connections do automatically accumulate over time or be directly acquire by spending resources. In addition there are several research options to increase the connections rate.

Another important change is the way Borg modules are selected. The next patch will feature a complete new Borg construction menu, allowing a player to select all models at once and preview the resulting vessels and its costs before spending resources. You will now also see a construction animation for Borg vessels.

New Borg Build Menu (v3.0.6)

Each row represents one module slot. You can easily select your modules. Modules that can no longer be built due to limitations will be shown in red.

As a small extra unit, the Borg Detector, known from Armada 1, will be back in action to scout for targets suited for assimilation!

i think all races need a support system that allows the creation of more supplies or what ever, so we don't have to spend resources unless we need a large influx of support resource.
