Shakedown

Thank you

Star Trek Armada 3 A Call to arms has been an incredible journey, our entire team has worked long and hard to bring you this version and I can safely say I am extremely proud of the result.

The effort and the dedication shown by the team is unlike any other mod I've worked on before and I hope we can equally make you enjoy what we have given you here today.

Armada 3 A Call to Arms will allow you to play as the 4 races in the previous release and the new Cardassian/Dominion faction. All previous factions have been polished and updated to make sure we bring you the up most quality we could achieve in the engine.
Now you may be aware we promised to provide a full manual at release, unfortunately due to my recent accident I was unable to finish these but I will get them done as soon as possible.

The War is raging on

Whats Next

We will ensure support for A Call to Arms but due to engine limitations will not be able to add more content. The engine is streched to the limit and at this moment already requires you to use the large address aware tool to play stably.

This is not the end however, as we have a surprise announcement later!

I've had crashes and have a nividia card aswell?
Could that be causing it.
I've tried everything i can think of, can we have a hot-fix perhaps?

Just some quick thougts:

Have you unchecked the read-only flag of the Sins-exe when applying the LAA-patch?
Have you tried another 4-gb-patch from the net?
Have you tried to use Steams' "Verify integrity of game cache"?
Have you checked your drivers and Windows version and applied the up-to-date versions?
Have you tried to reinstall/repair the installation of Sins, Visual C++, DirectX, the mod?
Have you downloaded and tried another instance of the mod/another install method?
Have you deactivated anti-virus programs during install?
Have you used the "Enabled mods"-txt provided in the download?
Have you tried switching it on and off? ;)

I don't think that it is with the graphics card itself, although I'm pretty impressed that a 650 is able to deal with Sins and this mod at all. Just kidding.

And I would seriously consider getting Windows 7, as Vista is known to be a real troublemaker and often produces problems where non shall be for no solid reason.

Mind askin me, why do u use 32bit OS when u have 8Gb ram? even at the best, any 32 bit OS can utilize 3,7-4GB ram. and thats the best. basicly u r ditching 4 GB ram away, ur game runs out of memory (since LAA means to extend the exe usage of RAM above 2GB)
Even if u use the "glitch" PAE in vista that forces the 32bit OS into 36bit (making the max RAM 64GB from 4GB) it will still be buggy and barely accessible for applications.

As Schuchart suggested, get a 64 bit win7/win8 and never look back.

@Reacon11:
I have Nvidia card in my asus laptop, no crashes after hours, win8 64bit.

The new call to arms release wont let us load a multiplayer game after we have saved on the custom maps. it says galaxy scenario file differs from the host whenever we try to join a saved game.

It's a known issue with sins. It's literally been a known issue since Sins Rebellion Beta, never got fixed. Go to your save file and send a copy of both parts to each of your friends. They will then be able to re-join the match.. You'll just have to make sure they know where to copy the save files to.

just somethings i found out the hard way... the tier 2 upgrades for the klingons, romulans, and Cardassians DO NOT work in the Diplomacy section. They all keep telling me that i have to research the appropriate tier 1 research which i've already done and i have a big green check mark on them. Please fix this problem. Other-wise all the research works great!

Thanks for the great mod :)

You have to have an active pact with the relevant faction to progress in the diplomacy tree.

Yeah, I also thought at first that it was a bug. Interesting mechanic. A little confusing if you are not aware of it.

I think it mentions it in the research's info card description, but you're right - this seems to be an issue lots of people have had since 1.0. I'll suggest a more detailed description for the hotfix. :)
