Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
"I was on Setlik III with Captain Maxwell the morning after the massacre. We were too late, of course. Almost everyone was dead."
"That was a terrible mistake. We were told the outpost was a staging ground for a massive attack against us."
"The only people left alive were in an outlying district of the settlement. I was sent there with a squad to reinforce them. The Cardassians were advancing on us, moving through the streets, destroying, killing. I was with a group of women and children when two Cardassian soldiers burst in. I stunned one of them. The other jumped me. We struggled. One of the women threw me a phaser, and I fired... The phaser was set at maximum. The man just incinerated, there before my eyes! I'd never killed anything before! When I was a kid, I'd worry about swatting a mosquito! It's not you I hate, Cardassian. I hate what I became because of you."

****. I accidentally downvoted your comment. I can't seem to undo it. Sorry...
We got yo' back, Jack.
This is one of my favourite Trek episodes, and Obrien is one of my fav characters. Whoever came up with the idea to bring him over to DS9 was brilliant. He's underrated by the fandom imo.
He has the best web comic too ;)
So this Nemesis is basically a MPer map?
Singleplayer only guy here...should i show any interest?
I wonder what class of ship the Rutledge was that O'brien got to serve on. I mean the ship was still in service when he was transferred to the Enterprise-D and then to DS9/Defiant since it lead a counterattack on the Klingons during the Federation-Klingon war during DS9.
Unless i'm mistaken, i believe it is a New Orleans class starship.
I always just assumed it was an Excelsior.
I guess Excelsior is the safest bet since there is so many of them. But part of me always hoped to see some more stuff from that time period and see other ship classes get some spotlight time. I can't help but feel pre-Enterprise-D/Galaxy class and Post-Excelsior there aren't enough ships.
Like the Ambassador why are there no off shoots of that like there is the Excelsior(Curry and Centaur) and Galaxy(The kitbashed fleet).
The Freedom, Rigel and Niagara-class starships of the kitbash fleets all bear strong resemblance to the Ambassador.
True for the Freedom and Niagara but they also share with the Galaxy so I saw them more of a staging point between the Ambassador and Galaxy. Though I completely forgot about the Rigel.
The Rigel is basically just the Niagara but with only two nacelles.
While i know it isn't canon, there is a DS9 comic book called 'No Time Like the Present' in which the USS Rutledge was shown as a New Orleans class.

I always liked that idea, since there are so many Excelsior class ships already.
Riker: I don't know. I think the resemblance is rather striking. Wouldn't you agree, Number One?
