K'tinga spam early- to mid-game is brutally effective. Probably one of the best early-game cruisers.

I'll just leave this here and attack this Borg cube with my attack wing of five K'Tingas and seven B'rels. Qapla'!

Description

An upgraded version of the D-7 cruiser of the 2240s, the legendary K'tinga battlecruiser was first launched in the 2270s and has served the Klingon Empire with honour and distinction for a century. In that time it has fought and conquered to expand the Empire, guarded the borders of the Klingon people, and struck fear into the hearts of the Empire's enemies.

Despite its advanced age, the K'tinga is still a common sight in the Klingon fleet, and although it is now by no means as powerful as its younger successors, it is still a sturdy and potent craft. Armed with powerful disruptors, pulse cannons and photon torpedoes, the K'tinga is also surprisingly manoeuvrable, allowing it to continue to serve and excel in the role of a light cruiser.

The Klingon Defence Force's long-term plans for the K'tinga are unknown. It is not the Klingon way to discard something that is useful, and the K'tinga shows no signs of becoming useless. Indeed, there are many older warriors in the KDF who still consider the K'tinga to be the purest expression of the ideal Klingon warship. As such, these venerable cruisers will likely continue to serve until they, like any true warrior, finally meet their glorious end in battle.
