If its like DS9 space stations don't have warp core but rather fusion reactors as they don't need all that power to generate a warp field as they don't go to warp.

They still need shields, don't they? Plus, wasn't O'Brien complaining that DS9 used fusion reactors? Doesn't that imply that Spacedocks use Warp Cores?

DS9 needed shields and they used fusion reactors: shields don't need as much power as warp fields which bend space-time. I see you point about O'Brien complaining about the fusion reactors however it may have been a comparison to when he served as starships like the enterprise which would seem to have an abundance of power in comparison.

Well you cant be sure what the situation was. Early days DS9 was ransacked and sabotaged by the cardies. If you recall later on DS9 was holding off waves of Klingon and Dominion ships but at the start they couldnt hold themselves against a single cardie ship. Maybe initially DS9 had few operational reactors so low power, or maybe there is something else that is not a warp core but not a FR either that is more up to fed standards and was resolved as the series progressed.
