Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The Kulinor class is an original design based on a ship from Armada 2, we tried to incorporate elements of a larger cardassian ship that we havent shown off yet. The Janissary has gotten a texture upgrade.
A hint of larger ships to come. I like this update. Also, the background colors seem to compliment the general scheme. I like it.
Never did like the aesthetics of cardie ship design... but these are good looking.
Oh I am so going to blow this up!!!!
Death to the Cardassian Union! All Federation ships, forward at combat speeds! Prepare to fire a full spread of Photon Torpedoes!
I'm afraid the Shield is quite operational......
Wait......
Now witness the firepower of this full armed and operational batt...... erm janissary class warship.
IT'S A TRAP!!!
The forc.... ahh....the pah-wraiths are strong with this one.
Our shields can't repel fire- err, phaserpower of that magnitude!
Errrr... why can't it be firepower? I think that "firepower" could be used universally for any age, from Shin Sangokumusou(Dynasty Warriors) to Star Trek and Star Wars.
Only cavemen use firepower, everyone knows that.
So Star Wars is also prehistoric, because firepower is mentioned at the Battle of Endor, when second Death Star started firing on Rebel starships. Or even better, there are some things even today for which we use fire. So even with computers, cell phones and robots we are still cavemen.
Correct! We have been repeating ourselves ever since we first realized we could do science with sticks to wield energy.
Sticks make fire, fire makes better sticks, better sticks make better caves that fly and shoot fire (give or take a few steps). The principle concept of shelter and energy is so fundamental it's caveman old and we still use it. Our imagination can change what it looks like as time goes on, which in that sense, makes it no longer "prehistoric" as quoted but it is still wielded by cavemen, albeit well dressed and better educated cavemen.
I believe the day we change ourselves in to something that no longer needs or wants "caves or fire", we will no longer be cavemen in that sense because we will have become something that is alien to the original reason fire was needed. We may not even be human at all anymore. Until that time, we are just cavemen that have had a long time to make better sticks and more efficient fire.
Oh and also my cavemen statement was just to poke fun. I agree that "firepower" can be used universally, "phaserpower" sounds more Star Trek themed which I think is what Ahobgoblin was going for.
