An odd but beautiful ship design. But I don't recognize it, is it canon somewhere or is it one of your own design?

It's a canon design as part of the "Frankenstein Fleet" that the designers came up with as fill-ins for the Dominion War in DS9. Don't believe this particular one was ever actually seen on screen, but it was kitbashed for the series.

Ah. I always loved looking at photos of those models. Didn't the design for the Intrepid class came from the frankenstein fleet as well?

You're thinking of the Yeager, Intrepid saucer plastered onto a Raider hull.

USS Hutzel I guess, named for the deceased designer.

I love that poem, did a study and read of it in Grade 9.

I asked about this ship quite sometime ago when Final Frontier came out since I remember this was shown but couldn't find it in game.

It's called the Trident-class and it's one of Hutzel's kitbash designs. I think this is the first time ir's been digitally rendered as a 3D model. As it is it's probably my favourite kitbash of them all.

It is nice. But like I said when it was first shown it was said to be in Final Frontier but I couldn't find it and no one answered my question if it was in or not or where it was.

It's definitely in TFF - hence how it found its way into the screenshots. You can build it from the abandoned Federation shipyards you sometimes find on maps.

Keep in mind though that there's a whole list of ships that can be built from these shipyards and the ships made available to you from any given shipyard is randomised, so specific ships can be hard to get.

Yeah I merely asked because all the ships I have encountered among my travels.... they were the most Mirandaesque

Seriously though EVERY time I found a shipyard it was always the Miranda types and the other one.. forgot it's name but never the Trident.

I see what you did there... ;)

You're more likely to get a Miranda variant simply because there are a bunch of them. Three that I know of.

I guess it's merely my luck then again I was someone who reported hours after release of final frontier that a Borg cube event somehow spawned and wrecked all my **** really early on. Even Gul was confused at how it was able appear so soon.

Prety sure all we can do with that is make certain random events less likely to appear, but not impossible. At this point being attacked by a major random event early on is really just a matter of bad luck.

If memory serves me right I actually remember that you chimed in with Gul when I first reported it. Since it was literally the first random event I got in my first game of TFF and it came straight for me even though there was another race in that system. I have worst luck ever in this mod I need a version solely for me to compensate for my lack of luck with buffs.

This is one problem I'm having with TFF. It's really hard to find some of the stuff I know is in the mod. That being said, I tend to turtle.

Description

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
– Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

- John Magee, 'High Flight'
