What exactly did you change here? Did you flattened it more? It's hard to judge by this angular.
the textures are quite different. These are closer to the "First Contact" Style Borg vessels. Take a look in HD.

The picture description is wrong geometric shape would indicate a change of the cube itself (the model) that's why I was confused.
I preferred the Borg of First Contact. The Borg are all about bare metal, an absence of color and life. Voyager's Borg overdid it with the green stuff. Great work.
Just really hope you keep the Borg by lore. This is one of the only Trek games(mod) that does that and it would honestly be kinda disappointing if you did change it :\ Just my opinion. (:
That's a tough one. we're going to to out several things with the Borg in the coming weeks. We want to make them accessible to players, while at the same time maintaining the late-game power that the Borg are deserving of. We will endeavor to keep them powerful and terrifying for "comp stomp" matches, but we really feel they need a bit more love in general and accessibility.
i know some people think they are too hard but the borg should be. with the new dominion surely there will be enough other factions to play with.
however all decisions on the mod so far hav be good so im sure however u change the borg theyll still be good :)
As Guls Right hand and one of the main Borg developers i can put some peace of mind across that while we will make changes to how they balance out this in no way will diminish the out and out power of the large borg vessels, i however feel as others have described that frigate and cruisers levels still need work as does the trapezoid so these are areas id like to address working with Gul
Im curious. Is most of the texturing a bump map or is the model quite um... bumpy too?
In large part it's the model itself, although accents are also there via texturing.
Hm perhaps making a Borg AI faction and a Borg Human faction doesn't sound so wrong? At least it would save you a lot of headache the only thing that those 2 factions would share are the models the configs are unique on both factions.
im confident 23 down we dont need two seperate factions to achieve both goals we currently use research hidden to the player that effects the overall AI borg and it works well but it needs tweaking!
It looks absolutely amazing, truly better then the current texturing. I do have a question however. The devs have stated that they wish to rework the Borg to make them more accessible, however do you have any plans on reducing the health of some of the smaller borg vessels? I always thought it was strange that the sphere had almost as much health as the first Borg cap ship.
imagine it as the same models but a totally new faction. We really need to look at it long and hard. Sometimes the easiest way it to start from the ground up. We've got a leg up though, in the respect that all the assets are ready to build around.
Well you guys have done a fantastic job with the mod so far. I'm sure that you'll be able to find a way to make the Borg into a very fascinating faction.
This thing always destroy me and my fleet, because everytime it shows its level 7+
