Work is progressing on our original Dominion and Cardassian vessels. Check out Max's work in progress on the Dominion Capital Carrier (potentially to be named the Scutellum class)
Why not the one from Dominion Wars?
I'll go with my favorite reason, it's ugly as hell. I like this design, much more of a Dominion feel than the carrier from the Dominion wars" game.

Good decision the one of Dom wars was indeed ugly as hell. But eventually such a ship will come in handy as a reinforcement ability similar to the Klingon reinforcements. Dominion straight out of the Gamma quadrant. :)
That design looks very good and very fitting.
We'd like to get some original designs in there to show off what we can come up with. some semi-canon vessels like those from dom wars will likely also show up.

I see a mix of ideas in the design, the Klingon nose, Jem Hadar warp nacelles, Breen and Romulan mixed body.
She's a beauty. Question: If the dominion are a research tree subsection of the Cardasian race, how do you plan on making the AI chose between the various trees?
it'll be random chance as to what it chooses to research first. When one is chosen the other is locked out.
In all honesty that doesn't sound good enough. I would set 2 separate factions one where it begins with Tech tree A unlocked and one with Tech tree B unlocked. Let the players decide what they wanna fight up against.

More seriously this is the concept we had for this faction and we'll be sticking to it. After release, if you want to separate the factions then you're more than welcome to, and we'll me delighted that users are tailoring it to their needs.

well it's just an opinion but you're right of course no need to argue over this. The mod is fantastic no matter what happens. ;)

And I ask me, when the Dominion gets this new ship class and maybe much more, would it be also a seperate pure Dominion faction?^^
I mean, hey, why not? It has potential and would make sense to play the Dominion and have the choice to make an alliance with the Cardassian, the other way arround like with the Carassians. This were nice, what a beautiful dream.^^
i know the colours are cannon but will you ever change the colour to match the rest of th romulan colours?

Probably not, the current colours are cannon as its technically a Reman ship.
