For this recurring segment, we will be highlighting the five biggest stories on ModDB for the prior week. Whether it's new mod announcements, major mod releases, or important stories that affect the mod scene as a whole, you'll find them rounded up here each week.

The Week of April 6 2018

The final version of Star Trek Armada 3. Included is Star Trek Armada 3: Nemesis, Star Trek Armada 3: The Final Frontier and a copy of the Galaxy Forge so you can make your own maps. Go nuts, enjoy! Please note that if you're downloading this after 1 April 2018, you don't need the patch as well, the full version contains it.

Fallout: New California adds an all new story around a new player character, an adopted resident of Vault 18, embarking on a journey through the wastelands of the New California Republic's Cajon Pass. An unofficial prequel to New Vegas, FPB adds hours of new gameplay and a fully voiced stand alone campaign.

xtreme Wolfenstein is a gameplay enhancement mod for modern gamers. Now you can play classic levels as they felt the first time; tense, and precarious. Enemies are stronger, smarter, and better equipped. Variety has been added to the enemies, so that you never know what may lurk around the corner. Some boss levels are automatically tweaked, to include mini-bosses or different items. The arsenal has increased dramatically; you now have at your disposal a rifle, chain-gun, flamethrower, and rocket-launcher in addition to the original weapons. Duke-Nukem style kicking is possible with the alt-fire key, and you can throw stick-grenades with the reload key.

10th Anniversary Edition Textures. Compatible with Crysis/Warhead/Wars and mods, including multiplayer. The mod contains only the textures, materials and objects, so you can use it with any graphic mods, such as BlackFire's Mod Ultimate or Quality Mod :-)

Not only is Crusader Kings II an excellent strategy game in and of itself, but it’s home to some of the most ambitious total conversions in the PC modding scene, with mods that take the game out of the Crusades and into the worlds of other games and media. ModDB is home to those total conversions, so here are the best picks that you should install once you’ve added Crusader Kings II to your Steam account!

You don't have to promote Steam (see Crusader Kings description above).

Correct they don't have to, but they clearly chose to anyway, because lets face it, steam is the best place to play games.....
