New version of Star Fox Event Horizon, added Blue Marine and Landmaster levels
PLEASE READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO GET RUNNING
INSTALLATION
- Delete any older versions of Star Fox Event Horizon that you may have installed.
- Extract "Starfox Event Horizon.zip and "wxlauncher"
- Unpack Starfox Event Horizon.zip in a location of your choice.
- Install wxlauncher and launch the program.
- Once wxlauncher starts up, go to the tab "Basic Settings." Set "game root folder" to the location that you unpacked Star Fox Event Horizon. If correctly done, "FS2 Open 22.3.0" should show up as an option in "FS2 Open executable" below.
- You can alter the resolution in this tab and other features to suit your PC's specs.
- Go to the "Advanced Settings" tab. Down at "Flag Sets" select "All Features On." Above this are various lighting settings. It is recommended to select "DaBrain's" settings, but you can choose one of the other lighting settings if they look better to you.
- Press play at the bottom of the screen. You may get a warning that says "Unrecognized command line parameter." This will not effect the game and you can click OK to continue.
NEW FEATURES
- Five new campaign levels: Aquas, Macbeth, Sector X, Zoness, and Fortuna.
- New levels featuring the Blue Marine and Landmaster
- Several Work in Progress levels that can be found in the Simulator.
Fantastic work, and congratulations on the new release!
Any plans to put EH on Knossos?
Yes it's planned, I had trouble getting it to work with Knossos.
Can't use Blue Marine's torpedoes in Aquas mission nor the Nova Bombs with the Arwing.
Both weapons aren't available during the loadout setup.
Also, health pickups are WAY lower than in the previous version. Zoness mission is a complete pain with those missiles exploding near your ship and causing over 50% damage without any way of restoring hull.
The Aquan Torpedo and Nova bombs should be fixed in a patch I'm releasing soon. I've increased the drop rate of powerups from enemy fighter craft from 10% to 25% for this patch as well. I'll be going through and balancing enemy weapon damage in the future, that will probably need some time.
The engine output meter is missing and when the squad status indicator is unavailable (Such as during the training missions) the radar takes it's place.
Thanks so much for this... when I first installed this I didn't use the wxlauncher by mistake and started the game from an exe in the folder, it all started okay and I played a bit of it and everything was fine, including controller in game.. when I realized my mistake I reinstalled it the correct way but for some reason controller doesn't work with it anymore, I have selected it in the launcher and it sees it when collaborating it but just won't work in game anymore. I hope you have the answer how to fix this because I can't wait to play this game which I think is the best mod ever made.
Hi everyone. I have a small question. Is there perhaps somewhere a step-by-step instruction how to install this mod? I just found it recently, and I'm a huge star fox fan and really like to try it out. I never played Freespace 2, so I don't know how to install it.
On the download page just below the download now part it says description - read more, click on read more and it tells you how to install.
Also remember to add the patch after you install the main game, it is a great Star Fox game.. but unfortunately I can't get controller to work for this version anymore, I tried reinstalling it but it just doesn't work at all in-game.
Hello, i got EH to launch on my steam deck by adding fs2_open_22_3_0_20220830_ba82e4ef5_x64_SSE2.exe to lutris however in game mode the resolution seems to be staying at a much larger number than the 1280x800.
is there a way i can change it? maybe with some arguments to lutris or modifying an ini file?
If you installed the wxlauncher, then in local appdata> roaming> wxlauncher there is a configuration file > pro00000, you can change the resolution in there, you might need to also make it read only and save it not sure.

Great mod, I've played a little bit.
For some weird reason, my game ui is completely out of scale (gigantic) and I can't fix it in game or in the configs.
Other than that, great game! ~

So, I downloaded it, followed the instructions, but when I go to the basic settings to set the game root folder, it doesn't give me anything to select for it.
apparently, it doesn't log you in automatically to the site. Ignore the previous comment.
Very excited about trying out Star Fox Event Horizon. My favorite missions in Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Zero were when you were part of the larger battles that involved Cornerian Forces being in the fight also, Katina and Sector Beta. This being focused on those large battles has me very excited to try this out.
Are there cheats, or a complete save file in case things get too hard? I'm on very easy and it was still hard to to beat the second level, there aren't enough health pickups either.
Also Fortuna is basically impossible, let me skip it.
If you go to the Mission Simulator and select Campaign Missions, pressing Ctrl-shift-S at the same time will unlock all missions.
It works though not entirely, I still can't play missions past Fortuna.
Also a bug, if you destroy the Secret Weapon too fast the level doesn't progress.
Fortuna is the last mission you can play in its respective path at the moment.
I did run into the Spyborg bug myself recently, hopefully I have it fixed for the next release.
I absolutely love that Star Fox is getting a really cool fan game. But man, I can't play it myself. The control's are so bad/wonky. Can't use a controller because my controller doesn't even begin to have enough button's for all the control's and inputs. And the default keyboard hotkeys are a total mess(trying to rebind them is a pain, due to so many different controls and button inputs, and conflicting button inputs). Even trying to do Fox's Training, the key's that the game were telling me to press, weren't the button's I actually needed to press to preform the action needed of me to continue. SO I couldn't even pass the training.
I hope you guy's keep up the good work with the game, but I had to step away form trying to play it myself. At least for now.
