S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat: Redux



After weeks of hard work, I'm very proud to announce that Redux is now available for Open Beta testing!

'The latest installment of the Redux series of S.T.A.L.K.E.R mods, CoP: Redux aims to redefine your S.T.A.L.K.E.R experience both graphically and gameplay-wise, adding realism, danger, fun and more interest to the Zone we all love.'


Redux v0.8 contains almost all of the features that will be in the v1.0 release, but may contain bugs, errors or imbalances. I am releasing this version of the mod in the hope that you will help me to find these problems, so that I can fix them.

Many people see Beta releases as a slightly buggy, unfinished version of the final product and don't bother themselves with leaving feedback and comments - an integral part of the testing stage.

I ask that you do leave feedback on the official forums, enabling me to more quickly and efficiently address any issues that crop up.
Please specifically leave feedback on these topics especially:

  • Combat - Damage of weapons, overall feel of battles and how fun they are.
  • Artifact rarity, value and effects.
  • Item drop rates and rarity, as well as effects.
  • Hunger and food.
  • Economy - weapon, item, artifact, ammo prices etc. This one is important.

Remember that Redux is a realism mod, and is thus supposed to be a lot harder than the Vanilla game. If you're dying in a couple of shots, that's intended. Keep this in mind when leaving feedback.

This is just the start, in v1.0 you can expect:

  • Better tuning of the economy and item values.

I just remembered that I purchased this game and never played it for more than an hour, maybe this mod could make me reconsider.
Anyone knows how to fix the 10 minutes loading times?

Been keeping my eye on this mod for a while, as CoP didn't have the atmosphere that I loved so much from SoC+AMK. I'll be sure to give you my feedback on this mod, keep up the good work.

After my first half hour of play, thoughts so far:

1) Despite playing vanilla CoP (with ballistics tweek for realism) on master, I've already died more times in Redux (still on master) than I probably did all my last playthrough - which is a good thing, makes me feel like I'm actually surviving, or at least trying to.

2) Love the new HUD, I always thought the old one was excessive and took away from the immersion.

3) Couple of thoughts. 1 - remove the beeping noise when you get close to people, it would add greatly to the atmosphere. 2 - Can you remove the "find cover for blowout" on the bottom left, while it's better than it was before, I would still like to see all of that gone and return to how it was in SoC+AMK. 3 - med packs weigh 1kg +, after a full suit upgrade, primary weapon, food, ammo, I can see issues arising where you need to carry more weight. Not sure if this is fixed with artifacts, but it would have been nice to be able to carry a few more things.

So far it's much, much more enjoyable and feels more like a true STALKER game than stock CoP. Can't wait to try out the artifacts.
