I'm still working on the mod, so don't fret! There is no ETA and just like any good developer that cares about their project the statement "It'll be ready when it's ready" is very true here. I want this mod to be as beautiful, realistic, hard, terrifying, and stable as a mod is capable of being on the X-Ray engine and I will not rush it just to "get it done".

Thats right, I'm still working on the mod. There is no ETA and just like any good developer that cares about their project the statement "It'll be ready when it's ready" is very true here. I want this mod to be as beautiful, realistic, hard, terrifying, and stable as a mod is capable of being on the X-Ray engine and I will not rush it just to "get it done". Graphically, I'm now probably finished making TK look as beautiful as any mod is capable of looking on X-Ray. Theres been lots of tweaks, new little elements and fine tuning since the last beta, and yet more vanilla Stalker bugs have been fixed. There will be new screenshots uploaded as soon as I get a chance and I'll try to get somebody to do some nice HQ gameplay videos. I'm still toying about adding some cut levels, but without a team supporting me with this mod I may forget that idea just because I know there are followers who have literally waited YEARS to get the final build polished version of TK 2.0.

Some of the features that probably won't be immediately noticed include;

Battery operated night vision on the Monolith suit
High resolution foliage textures (bushes, trees, etc)
Different ammo types have their own unique properties
Gameplay has been balanced so players must learn to be versatile (eg; you may not always have enough ammo to use your favoured weapon)
Mutants are no pushovers, unless you happen to be wearing the likes of the Skat 9M PSY or Elite Exoskeleton, expect a good mauling if you let them get too close.
You can run in the Elite Exoskeleton
You can run with the likes of the SVU but NOT the SVD or Gauss
New ambient level musics for Garbage, Dark Valley, Radar, and others
New musics for the radio at the Bar and Sid's bunker
Weapons such as the BM16, P90 and MP5 can be put in the pistol slot
Lots of other stuff

Next, I'll be looking at all the ambient sounds in a level, and changing any I feel don't fit. After that is done I'll consider the mod to be a "solid base" in which to finish the all.spawn (for adding cut mutants and perhaps some other surprises) and maybe future inclusion of cut levels.

Oh sweet, while you've been busy I've even started playing around with modding the game. Trying to implement a 3D UI and Inventory, PDA and the likes.

If you get that working that would be awesome. I recall a old beta build of stalker using a 3D inventory, no idea why they abandoned that it was great. If you get the 3D stuff working, let me know :D
