The envisionment of TK is to bring you what was promised by GSC for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, instead of the gutted retail release we were left with. TK aims to cover every aspect imaginable from gameplay intended to genuinely scare the player, to graphics for the absolute best visual experience, cut mutants, absolute realism, optimisations, stability, and a complete game mechanics overhaul, all without breaking the story. The idea is to present the player with a complete retail experience for the purist that liked SoC but wished it was far more fleshed out. In no way what so ever does TK try to be like old beta or alpha builds of SoC, TK aims to enhance everything SoC already has - nothing more, nothing less.

Looks good. Where in the game is that?

Right, I should've known that. That static light never caught my eye, though. Did you change its look somehow?

With all the user.ltx settings I've changed and a bunch of other things it does stand out more than it normally would. In the vanilla game that light barely equates to more than a odd looking extra bright oval shape on the ground, and a ugly looking one at that.

Wow, that's interesting, especially as this light looks pretty volumetric here.

Not volumetric at all, just a balance of retuned and reenabled settings with some texture blending and effects techniques. The results here are far better than I was expecting though.

It's impressive how you always find room to improve the effects, and always push the limits :D Keep it up!

In terms of textures everything is maxed out now, but there are still other areas that over time will be improved ;) I also wanted to blow other SoC mod graphics out of the water, not for ego or anything like that, just because I'm skilled enough to do so.

Nice :) Do you plan to write some tutorials or share your knowledge later on?

I would if I had the time, could probably write a book on SoC modding with everything I have rattling around in my brain.

Description

Made some light based tweaks in order to make things look more natural and eliminate the hard edges of static light sources (such as here)
