How to install:
Extract archive to your stalker shadow of chernobyl directory, overwrite when prompted.

Zombified stalkers will now show on the minimap when killed
Changed AI behaviour, should be less one dimensional / disjointed.
Zombified stalkers will now ignore grenades
NPCs will now switch off their lights at night once they have a bead on their enamy

**All stashes in the game will be populated meaning if you find a stash you can loot it, you don't need its infoportion.

I keep getting an XrSound.dll error after copying this mod into the game directory. The vanilla game works just fine.
Done a clean install and patched to 1.0005? Try not copying over the bin folder and just using the modded xr_render.
I reinstalled and patched to 1.0005. fsgame.ltx is set to true. I only copied over the XR Render dll file and not the entire bin folder since there is only that one file. The game loads just fine with the modded XR Render dll file, but when I copy over the gamedata folder to the root installation and then start the game is when it crashes. Otherwise the game loads up fine. I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?
As dumb as it sounds I take it you remembered to delete any existing gamedata folder and deleted the stalker-shoc folder before reinstalling? I'd need to see what your x-ray log says at the bottom (in stalker-shoc>logs folder) to get a better idea. Its also worth noting that because of the extreme changes TK will take longer to load than vanilla, depending on the system and background applications it could possibly take anywhere between 30 secs to 3 mins.
Hey, I've got the mod working great and I must say it's a whole new experience, much more challenging and I'm loving it so far. I have experienced a few issues however. I keep getting flickering textures, and the game also freezes sometimes for a second or two when moving or I get the occasional stutter. When I entered the garbage and other areas past it, I keep hearing what I would describe as a mechanical pumping sound, it gets louder depending where I am, and I can't find the source of it to turn it off. The other thing that happens is when I've met the Stalker at Agroprom and the cutscene takes over, I'm returned back to the character only to find that I've been attacked and killed by zombies and mutants which is out of my control. Sorry to rant on, I don't want to sound like I'm putting a downer on your fantastic mod, but I thought you may appreciate feedback.
I don't mind feedback, I'll answer things bullet style to keep the answers as short as possible.
1. The flickering grass I have no idea what causes it, I spent a long time trying to track down the culprit without any success so I've passed it off as a rendering bug as the grass even flickers in vanilla.
2. Minor pauses are caused by AI and the prefetch cache, I've balanced it as best as possible but its just another issue with X-Ray itself.
3. The noise is a anomaly, I forget which one though.
4. The mutant attacks in Agroprom generally aren't a problem with the cutscene but if it is causing a issue you can "sidestep" the cutscene by simply moving off of the path and heading along the train tracks.
Hi I'm having a small problem actually starting the game. It comes up saying I need to upgrade to windows 98SE, windows 2000 or better yet I have 8.1 (Which I hate anyway. Prefer 7)
I'll find a way round eventually but was hoping you already know about it and have a quick fix.
I know SoC runs on W8 but I haven't heard what its compatibility is like with 8.1. Try running the game in Win 7 compatibility mode. To do that right click on the icon and select properties, then click the compatibility tab and check the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for" then select Win 7. Also check the box to run the program as a administrator at the bottom of the compatibility tab window.
It's actually quite common problem. Even with retail copies. And belive me or not using hatreds 1.0005 crack will fix this issue
