I've enjoyed all the stalker games through the years, and use various mods (the COMPLETE mods are the only ones I recall using by name) to change things up or make the game more realistic / harder. So naturally, Misery seemed to be what I was looking for. I was wrong.

I'm only going to talk about the negative things that I noticed since I have limited space. I do appreciate lots of the changes and the scope of the mod, though.

The first thing I noticed was the lack of HUD, but that effectively means I just use my PDA more often than I would have before, which is annoying, not hard. If you had just a blank map and a journal with the quest information written down in it, that would be great.

The second thing is that firefights are incredibly frustrating due to how many bullets it takes to kill anything and how few it takes to kill you in return. Personally, I've played enough mods and games like this already. This is the second easiest way to make a game 'harder' the first being 'add more guys.' I think the 'lack of bullets' complaint stems from this problem.

The radiation damage in this game is extremely difficult to judge. I rarely feared the radiation in vanilla CoP, even on the hardest level of difficulty. Because it was so easy to rid yourself of radiation, not knowing exactly how much you had or were taking was fine. In this mod, you need specific information on both the amount you currently have, and the rate you are getting it. Other environmental damage was similarly hard to judge (and very high, I won't say it was too much, but I was surprised at the level), but it doesn't have the lasting effects that radiation does, so it isn't as annoying.

I think there is more to enjoy in this mod than I have experienced, if I could actually do something. Exploring the helicopters is nearly impossible, as were the other 'easy' starting missions. I would love to try this mod again if changes were made. Overall, it felt tedious, rather than challenging.

Too difficult can't do start of game missions as they are almost impossible if you see anything hostile you might as well quick load. Getting one hit by just about anything is instant death.

Unrealistic weapon models and stats absurd over the top price gouging on just about everything. Some of this stuff could have been fixed by actually looking at the weapon. The Mosin is the best example of this it looks silly like somebody chopped off 14 to 15 inches off of it and I'm not talking about the sawed off version either.

Unable to read most of the item descriptions because they are too long and don't fit the window. Also really hate it when mods change the voice to Russian but don't add subtitles making it impossible to understand characters that are trying to talk to me.

The mod isn't any fun to play at all worst yet I have to uninstall the entire game just to get rid of it as there isn't any way to uninstall it.

I'm going to stick with COP complete or find something else.

A review must be entered to justify the low rating eh?..ok here;

Complete pile of s***..just like it's predecessor..just like any "American flawored" mode..
They're butchering a beautiful game and worst of all;they think they are improving it..
You know what, this game was made by the Russian people..and the best modders are Russian people as well..they know their stuff..
Looking for a true mod?..a respectful overhaul?..just stick to SGM..and enjoy it's faithful,non-altered atmosphere..enjoy the "decent/enough" realism it provides..enjoy the new quests..new NPCs..everything that carries the same spirit&ambiance as the vanilla game does, but also expands it without forgetting the true purpose of this game..

Good day..

Pos mod very laggy no matter what settings you put it on. Imblanced combat eg not realistic foes are freaking bulletsponges your class cant run for **** with the lowest amount of gear. imbalanced health system you bleed out so freaking quickly no time to bandage before you bite the dust. Mutants are bulletsponges as well and kill you extermly quickly armour is praticly useless. the lack of bullets and broken economy

I just created an Account just to say this was one of the first Game/Mod that I was completely excited about. I really love what you have done. I love that you even took the time to adjust what is in the stashes to make sure its not too easy. I love the atmosphere. As you know there are some things that could be adjusted and I'm sure there will be a patch to adjust them accordingly. Thanks you for your time and effort. If you want to be apart of the gaming creating community then I hope someone recognizes your hard work and your focus to see a vision through.

For everyone with the CTD's and XRay crashes. I was experiencing them as well. I did everything I could to troubleshoot the issue but nothing worked. What I did to make it run like a dream was to UN-INSTALL everything. Because I have modded CoP before I couldn't even use the uninstaller and had to use Revo Uninstaller. This removed all traces of the Mods and Cop from the registry as well. The problem was that the previous mods left behind little incompatible traces that conflicted with XRay. I hope this helps.

Stalker, in my point of view, was made to be a game with a balanced system of overall gameplay; non-stressful to stare hard at the screen when looking through a scope or to constantly load back a quicksave to pass an obstacle for so many times that you can easily forget the intense fighting as well as not being able to recall any chance of fulfillment or experience about what happened.

The atmosphere and textures, everything was dark, gloomy, depressing, and unpleasing to the eyes; some occasions I may have no idea what I am looking at, considering that the icon is so dark that it holds no sense of interest and easy depiction towards other similar-looking objects.

I have come to love the AS Val to the point that it is now my favorite gun of the whole world for its unique design and attributes. As this has been said, and to this point of time where many fantastic weapon mods for Call of Pripyat are out, I would hope to see some fulfillment with the weapon aspect of MISERY. However, the weapons seem to only be barely touched; the only main aspect that differentiates the vanilla Call of Pripyat weapons from weapon mods are the animations. I still find the same original animations for all guns as well as the newly added ones.

I only hope that others would see my point of view as much as I do. I wish for the best of the future of this mod, and perhaps someday I will come back to give MISERY another chance for the best.

After playing through the new release, I feel nothing has really changed. The AI still flips out, the lack of subtitles makes the game far harder than it should be (IE, you're a Russian who can't speak Russian), and sometimes you die without any reason.

It seems the MISERY team still can't fill the gap between realism and fun.

Misery 1.0 and 2.0 feel like different mods, with 2.0 being the underdog in all of this... and not in a good way. After playing for nearly 20 hours (I have had nothing else to do today, sue me!) the game is just... well, it's not as fun as the first release.

When trench-coat wearing NPCs can take two buckshots to the head at point-blank range (after pushing me out of the way in their panic with those invisible force-fields I've discovered they have), they can down me in two shots (while wearing full armor) with a low-quality pistol. This is a severe balancing issue, and I highly doubt it's the way anyone would want to play the game. I'd expect this kind of damage resistance on a zombie, but a bandit...?

Second, fix the subtitles. I will continue to aggressively poke you with my lengthy bunny stick (note, an actual stick made of wood, not bunnies) until you do. I'm having a hard time discerning between "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE" and "Take a seat" when traveling with fellow stalkers during a Blow-Out/Monster attack.

Third, do something about the head-wobble (no one walks like that but a cripple, and I used to be crippled, so I know) and jam getting in your eyes every time you're injured. I've got a friend who's served in the military and has been shot twice (chest and neck) with large caliber rounds, and he doesn't recall getting Call-of-Lamers jelly in his eyes when being wounded.

You should really consider adding optional files (yes, this is your mod, but you're releasing it to a public audience) that lamers like us can download so we don't barf every ten feet and have to napkins our eye-holes whenever someone throws PBJs at us...

A lot has to be done to make this mod better.
Difficulty balance, it has to be realistic more than masochistic.
And mod lacks a lot of PROMISED features.

The mod is graphically amazing. And really gives the zone a good feeling. But the difficulty of the mod is almost degrading of it. You can barely even survive more than 5 minutes in the zone. Just radiation kills you in a matter of seconds and its unbelievably hard to find anything to cure it.
