How is your FPS performance? Can you get a steady 30 FPS? Lowering your switch_distance to 200 would boost your FPS a bit if you are not getting 30 or better.

У Скадовска около 30 фпс,а если по дальше уйти,то 50-60 фпс.Ниже switch_distance делать не хочу,играть не интересно будет :))

Anyone who wants to play at higher switch_distance on a slower rig will find frame limiting at 30 FPS will enable up to 200 meters higher switch_distance over just allowing GPU to try to squeeze out 10-20 FPS more all the time. I experimented quite a bit on a slower laptop. Overall, I have found much smoother performance and much cooler temperatures frame limiting.

Program uses about 2.5GB by its self. If you use static lighting for renderer and low preset for video, set switch_distance on install to 150, maybe. Close all background programs that don't need to be running. I recommend 6GB+ for best experience.

I agree with Kcs. Even the original game was tough until you learned how things worked. This mod is rich in features and more challenging especially at first as you learn new styles of play and the strengths/weaknesses of the mutants. After you know the system, it is more challenging and much more interesting but not brutal. If you are unable or unwilling to adapt your play style then you will suffer more.

Cant wait to try it out. Will saves from 2.1.1 + TAZ be compatible with misery 2.2? I kind of played misery for a long time and mostly enjoyed free-play (after the story line). Would be sad to start everything from zero and do away with same story again.
IMO, just a humble role of an ordinary stalker seems more appealing. Perhaps there is an optional feature to begin with free-play from the very beginning in 2.2?

Engine requires new game for changes of this magnitude. The skip the storyline option is intriguing. If you could flag all the quests completed and choose your allies or lack thereof. Somebody might be interested in tackling a tweak to allow that. It's beyond my skill set but I might try it out if someone does it. I can tell you the zone is more alive than ever and free play will also improve. Short of that, borrowing a save game from a player who chose your preferred class and has made it to free play would be best option.

mp5ing is probably getting spammed to death ... my bad. My fonts make i and l look too much alike. Someone should have a 2.2 final release compatible save in his class I'm sure.

The i seem to be my nemesis :p no matter what people mistake it with the l.
It's not a big deal with the class, there is a little trick I do whenever I switch between saves from different classes, let's say I have a save with assaulter but I am I using the recon files, the trick is to open "configs/creatures/actor.ltx" and switch the "actor_class" to assaulter since the new save uses it, it'll do the trick and load just fine, you are using the beta version now, maybe you can spare your very last save right before the official release and give it to him, but he's still won't be able to use TAZ with 2.2 :v

You mean the current version of TAZ, right? As soon as 2.2 is released they'll all be on you for TAZ for 2.2; no rest for the weary :D

You better be, everyone is gonna be looking for you after 2.2 will get released, can you imagine the pressure on you, everyone will wait for TAZ before starting a new game. And the spawn dialog too. xD

Survivor horror at it's finest, although slightly flawed. Once all the kinks are ironed out, this will be the definite Stalker: Call Of Pripyat mod.

With the intention of being realistic, it ends up feeling like its "overly" realistic, while some aspects make sense, others do not. The idea that a trained military sniper gets too tired to even move after WALKING about 100 yards, only carrying 10 pounds of equipment, seems silly to me. A normal person might get tired, but military personnel are trained to run for miles with much heavier equipment.
