MAJOR NOTIONS on GEAR & EQUIPMENT

Massive tweak of new ways to use items found ingame
. Some items can be sharpened now (shovels, swiss army knife, cutlery, grooming kit)

- Mutants can be looted only with use of sharp objects: knives, sharpened items or "Hunting Kit"


• Added quick-sharpening, with added possibility to use two separate one-usage-left sharpening stones to sharpen a shovel (shovels need two stones usages)

• Food cans have to be opened with a sharp object (knives, sharpened items, etc)

• The secret purposes of nearly every item you thought for immersion only will become readily apparent.

• Hints describe the purposes of items.

• Everyday items can now be sharpened and used to assist in getting more out of every item you find.

• A specialized Hunters Kit can be used to get the maximum amount of loot from Mutants. Yes, it’s now a viable source of income.

• Other makeshift items can also be used when sharpened and degrade with use.

• You can now salvage (with the appropriate tools) useable items from broken radios, Geiger counters, etc. reducing the weight of your loot and freeing up resources while in the field or camp.

• The more suitable a tool is for use the greater the benefit earned when salvaging items.

• Specialized salvage toolkits enable maximum recovery just like the Hunters Kit.

the third-person view is buggy, with the PMK gas mask the character wears the PBF, with the helmet sphere instead the character is not wearing anything: (

that's because the game is not meant to be in 3rd person, try it as a normal fps game,......oh...sorry ! that's not a normal game....that's a one kind of a game ;)

its not meant to be played in 3rd person but what about the main story? you know when you investigate the crashed choppers, it goes into a short cutscene which shows your character? no? ok i guess not.

With the 2.01 patch I have subtitles for main dialogs, quests, missions, etc., but I do not eg. when I enter the Skadovs and people greet me, or when I approach Owl and he says something. What's wrong with my configuration?

Only after you start the game, you can change closed caption optrion in configuration.

While I can enjoy and applaud what has been attempted here, when I have profanity-inducing difficulty keeping myself supplied, let alone upgrading to any equipment worth a damn, I don't consider myself having a good time.

Between the gamplay aspects reaching near-trollish levels of difficulty, and the technical aspects flipping me a middle finger with it crashing for no reason whatsoever at random intervals, the mod is coming off.

Give it an overhaul and get back to me.

Preferably after seeing this video a dozen or so times:

Make your own damn mod then. I like the mod because it is difficult. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT anyway as stated by the creators. I love when people say that the mod is hard enough to make them not want to play but then cross the line and say stuff like "Give it an overhaul and get back to me." YOU GIVE IT ONE BUDDY and I will keep enjoying this mod the way it WAS MEANT TO BE AS IT HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 3 FREAKING YEARS

Where do you feel the game fails to match the requirements set forth by Extra Credits? I certainly feel that the bugginess of it, does, at the moment, hinder your ability to dive back in after a failure. Otherwise, I think this mod is excellent for any STALKER who wants a more challenging experience. Did you ever play through Call of Pripyat without the mod?

Yes, and I prefer it for the quicker load times, better stability, Simplicity of equipment and maintenance, and not paddling my backside with the fervor of an S&M fanatic at every. single. opportunity.

Do I wish: That I couldn't just raid a zombie zone and sell all the junk. Yes, within reason.

Do I wish: That some things were a bit more difficult to acquire, and thus feel more accomplished in doing so? Yes, within reason.

Do I wish: That I didn't start with a higher-end suit and equipment at the start of the game? Yes, within reason.

Do I wish: That anomalies were nastier and posed a more serious threat? Yes, within reason.

Do I think the rules are inconsistent? Not really, (mostly) fair, but excessively harsh.

Key argument I'm trying to make: "Within reason"!

I don't sense much reason with the increase in harshness with this mod. It just seems needlessly punishing for the sake of being needlessly punishing.

What I think the mod lacks is a key topic later in the video, giving the player access to enough tools to come up with a solution and "Complex =/= Difficult".

While I do love the extra features put in. I can't enjoy things to the fullest if I can't even get withing ******* distance of making use of them...

I like the additional maintenance to the weapons, it makes me feel more connected to each weapon and feel more like it's my own. However, I will agree that this mod does tend to stray into Complexity for complexity's sake, rather than difficulty. Thanks for your 2cents! I'm hoping some further patches MDT releases will address some of these issues.

Survivor horror at it's finest, although slightly flawed. Once all the kinks are ironed out, this will be the definite Stalker: Call Of Pripyat mod.

With the intention of being realistic, it ends up feeling like its "overly" realistic, while some aspects make sense, others do not. The idea that a trained military sniper gets too tired to even move after WALKING about 100 yards, only carrying 10 pounds of equipment, seems silly to me. A normal person might get tired, but military personnel are trained to run for miles with much heavier equipment.
