MDT, I'm not familiar with the A-life, smart terrain system, so the patch notes on the subject weren't very clear to me -- will 2.0.2 decrease the overall # of squads roaming around/fighting each other?
The only thing I took notice of in 2.0.1 was that, in my opinion, there wasn't enough human v human conflict. Mutants are fun and all, but there's something about fighting an intelligent enemy at range with various weapons that feels so much better than simple animals. I'd love to see more/different patrol routes implemented that allow for more gun battles to break out, even if it's just on the map the actor is currently in.

Optimizations are vast but have purely background character - you wont notice a difference in density of squads and mutant packs. Human vs. human combat is possible to increase in future - not everything could be attended to in single go. I'll keep that insight in mind thou.

Note that there already are 'elite' and 'elite hunter' squads present in a-life whose sole purpose is to go to enemy / mutant territories at night - you should meet some of those especially later in-game as spawns are progressive.

Thanks so much for your reply! I definitely understand how busy you guys are, and it really takes some serious character to pour this much into other people for nothing in return. I'm glad I could offer my insight and thanks for the A-life explanation!

I won't download the new patch, version 2.01 was very balanced IMO. Patch 2.02 has for me no improvements.

(this isn't meant as flame or so just my opinion :D)

Now that's just not true. Making the combat helmet repair kit actually DO SOMETHING is certainly an improvement! :P

team with the economy: pump bullet price +25% (or 1/4 actual price), drop even more the damaged weapons, keep the pricing with mutant parts, and pump fixing pricing with the technicians, in 2.0.1 i didnt think twice about going to repair my gun at nitro if it was at least at 80%, almost any rifle is -2000 rubles to repair completely, also with the suits.

need to find a balance between the decision to repair at the technician or buy the parts and do it yourself.

It makes "reliability" a serious option when upgrading weapons.

Survivor horror at it's finest, although slightly flawed. Once all the kinks are ironed out, this will be the definite Stalker: Call Of Pripyat mod.

With the intention of being realistic, it ends up feeling like its "overly" realistic, while some aspects make sense, others do not. The idea that a trained military sniper gets too tired to even move after WALKING about 100 yards, only carrying 10 pounds of equipment, seems silly to me. A normal person might get tired, but military personnel are trained to run for miles with much heavier equipment. The ai could still use work, their detection system is most certainly unrealistic and can be very…
