Is anyone running Misery on a GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0? If so, how does it perform?

I am running 2 in SLI, but only at 1080p. Once the stuttering stops(even during stutter) it's super fast. The system is an old 1366 i7 (920) and my 780's, 680's, and 580's before that ran the game as flawless as X-ray would allow. Graphics cards for the past few years have not made much difference in 1080 at all. In the STALKER series

Do you overclock that CPU at all or just at 2.66GHZ Turbo? 1080P isn't much of a load for normal games on modern cards, but Misery is a whole new level of stalker AI. Did you, by any chance, try just one 980 out first to compare performance boost when going SLI? I tried crossfire out before with HD 7750's and it made a big difference in Vanilla COP. With Misery not so much, maybe even worse. That tweaked game_relations file in my profile comments really helps stutter on slower CPU's.

Sorry for the delayed reply...
My system has been OC'ed to 4.2Ghz with turbo boost for ever now (on air) but I did not try the one card first to see performance boost/disadvantages. When I upgrade graphics cards, I buy both together and switch them both out. System is running 6GB RAM without XMP booster, and the stuttering seems to go away when player travels around the entire map and then returns, so it's annoying for the first few minutes of game play. Surprising that SLI in your system would make Misery worse. STALKER/Misery is very CPU heavy rather than GPU heavy.

Crossfire boosts FPS from 30 limited with low stutter to 45. It puts my rig in the 97th percentile for all tested on 3DMark11, but not all that much help with mod. mY board is only crossfire capable, so I'll probably get 980 SC and settle for a least as good performance and much cooler/quieter since they draw so much less juice. I'll break even after selling off my two R9 290's. Maybe I'll do a Motherboard swap down the line and go SLI.

me, well... it's good, aroud 60 fps all maxed out but sometimes the game stutters, probably because i got a quadcore i7 and not a dualcore, it's an i7 4790k but from what i've read on some forums it's not that good for stalker

4.4 GHZ turbo should do just fine. There's 4 things you can do to reduce stutter: Frame limit at 45 or 30 FPS, use my tweaked game_relations file, set objects_per_update at 1 in alife.ltx and then turn switch_distance up until you're happy. I get 60 FPS with some stutter at 400 switch_distance with my R9 290 but virtually none at 30 FPS. Moving to crossfire 290's put benchmarks through roof, but not much help in Misery. I'm thinking of selling both off and switching to a 980 SC. I only use a single 1080P monitor and it's supposed to outperform at 1080P. Plus it will use way less juice and heat room up a lot less.

Prego. I was just about to buy a used GTX 980 SC and read an article about the new R 390X that is supposed to be released June 24th and I think I will hold off a bit.

gtx 980 should work fine, i am running it with a 770 and it runs and looks great, there are some fps drops and stutter. After testing the game several times with different settings the performance stays the same and i am sure that the performance is not gpu related. But an 980 will make the game look/run great as long as xray doesn't get the hickups.

Survivor horror at it's finest, although slightly flawed. Once all the kinks are ironed out, this will be the definite Stalker: Call Of Pripyat mod.

With the intention of being realistic, it ends up feeling like its "overly" realistic, while some aspects make sense, others do not. The idea that a trained military sniper gets too tired to even move after WALKING about 100 yards, only carrying 10 pounds of equipment, seems silly to me. A normal person might get tired, but military personnel are trained to run for miles with much heavier equipment. The ai could still use work, their detection system is most certainly unrealistic and can be very…
