Is it intentional that Noah's dog Lassie does no damage? All she does is bump into actor causing no harm. If Lassie could do proper amount of damage then maybe Noah wouldn't die quite so easily.

If anybody knows how to correct this please, please let me know how.

She is restricted unless Noah is attacked. He kills her with friendly fire as often as not. I loosened her restrictions once to test that out but it doesn't help. If you re-spawn her she has no restrictions and she and Noah go at it immediately. Cats can squeeze through cracks in ship and kill them and they will also leave the ship chasing mutants. I have instructions for spawning Noah on my profile page.

If I attack or kill Noah the dog will still just bump into me doing no damage. Haven't been able to find a way to allow Lassie to help protect Noah or herself. Do you know which .ltx/script file turns on/off her damage? Not something buried in allspawn I hope...

IIRC her settings are inside the main Pseudodog file in the creatures folder. I've watched her scurry around helping Noah fend off mutants when I spawned them inside the ship testing Noah out. There is nothing you can do to protect her from death from friendly fire. She is basically just a pseudodog on a very short leash. It would be super cool if she acted like you would assume she would. Noah is bat **** crazy and sprays shots around and kills her if the first cat bite doesn't. It does. Her settings start in the part of the m_pseudodog file that has zat_b18_dog.

Replied but must not have been signed in, oops. I don't see anything in the Pseudodog file that is specific to Lassie or that would explain why she does no damage when actor/player is hostile toward Noah. She will jump and run at player doing no damage whatsoever. I even changed her own file to actor_friendly = false and aggressive = true in every section. She is then always hostile but still does no damage! Start a new game, go to the barge and shoot Noah and see if Lassie can damage you. On my fresh install she does no damage at all. That is one of the reasons both she and Noah die.

Replaced all the zat_b18_dog info with the normal pseudodog info. Now Lassie can kill me... very, very quickly! So something is obviously wrong with the version 2.1.1 m_pseudodog.ltx file as provided.

P.S. I think I'll use the Psydog info. Makes her even more dangerous!

Everything in the zat_b18_dog section concerns only Lassie. Anything not mentioned defaults to the appropriate section of the generic pseudodog. I believe she is so near sighted she can't see you to actually bite. If you edit her characteristics one at a time to match those of the regular pseudodogs like min and max view distance, I think she will attack.

I think in order for there to be an attack, she has to be able to see past the minimum attack distance which defaults to 1.6.

Thanks, I agree totally. (see above comment). I suppose if MDT wants her blind they could put some dark glasses on her and provide a nice white cane for her to use.

It's been ages since I played vanilla game without a mod. I can't remember if she ever attacked normally before. Since she is always hostile, I assume she was blinded so she would just be menacing for immersion. It would be hilarious to give her glasses and put a seeing eye dog harness on Noah :D

Survivor horror at it's finest, although slightly flawed. Once all the kinks are ironed out, this will be the definite Stalker: Call Of Pripyat mod.

With the intention of being realistic, it ends up feeling like its "overly" realistic, while some aspects make sense, others do not. The idea that a trained military sniper gets too tired to even move after WALKING about 100 yards, only carrying 10 pounds of equipment, seems silly to me. A normal person might get tired, but military personnel are trained to run for miles with much heavier equipment. The ai could still use work, their detection system is most certainly unrealistic and can be very…
