Full concept modification of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat that touches every game aspect including textures, sfx, music, weapons, AI, items, weather difficulty and much more.
Majority of NPCs carry small rucksacks, so it makes a lot of sense that they are storing the basic and less valuable gear at some secret spot.
These backpacks, with all their personal belongings, are only being transported from A to B, whenever the NPC wants to travel far.
This is a principle heavily inspired by real life elite military units that are stationed in the field,
although these mostly leave a sentry at their backpack storages.
Each personal stash belongs to an ingame NPC and has a background story.
All have a mix of basic supplies with some items are far more common and expected than others.
I.e. a sleeping bag is very likely while a joint is more of a personal item with less chance of being featured.
- Big chance of basic water and other fluids
- Reasonable chance of camping equipment like sleeping bag, tarpaulin, etc.
- Medium chance of various drugs and medicine
- Small chance of personal items like journals and pictures
- Very little chance of valuables like batteries, grenades and stims
Here's to give you an idea of the diversity of stash contents:

Nice representation Nic. Damn :)
This Is Awesome I Love It Man Very Well Done . So Can't Wait For Misery 2.0
Who does?
I checked in at a good time!
Very cool
Yes. This is great. I hated the fact that money was so easy to come by, and stashes were so easy to find. This is great.
Perfect: get the stash infos
incredible presentation!
can“t wait to ransack the sh*t out of the zone
This gives me a reason to actually spare bandits and mercs.
Spare them until you get the stash info, then shoot :]
exactly so!
Or use your knife for a silent and less costly finishing move. Not that I am such a dark spirit personally of course ... ;-)
A real stalker pecks his hostages to death with bolts.
O.O
Who noticed the dog in the artwork?
Maybe it picked up a scent from the backpack and has found an interest...
Those tasty tasty roubles :]
When you call a scared and hungry dog towards you with a gentle whiste and throw him an RGD-5. That's when the Zone has darkened your mind and you should leave while you still have legs
1,5 years too late for me, but better late then never right!? :D
You can try
But no-one ever leaves the ZONE, not really.
Tactical Puppy. Is that .45 acp version of it?
(buried)
hi bro..i have to Q
1 Mersiry 2 incloude the new AI Semulation mod?
2 when its gonna released..2014?
What new AI Simulation mod?
Can we create stashes? I don't like having to either constantly dump useful kit on the ground or sell it because I'm over burdened.
You can buy a backpack item to make your own personal stash in 2.0
So, are personal stashes lootable? :>
Ofcourse! :)
Protecting stash from the rain, eh?
I suppose you're going to implement some kind of survival system that involves keeping yourself dry and warm and that encourages you to seek shelter during rainfall (as it would make you more visible to NPCS but also reduce your body heat unless you're wearing thick clothing, and even give you a cold)?
This mod is becoming more and more unbelievable!
Well not exacly. What Nic meant is that each stash location has been carefully desinged to be logical and fitting in every regard.
Moreover - due to the way you get the stash info (by sticking a gun to a head of surrendered enemy), a new, unique dialog phrase had to be written for each of 100+ new stashes which describes in proper and immersive way what the stash is about.
So for ex. a ******* bandit can say to you: 'Please, please dont kill me. I've hidden some food we've taken of a bunch newbies. Its below the large metal bar near the cranes. We've placed in under it so that conservas dont get rotten from rain. It can be all yours now, just please, please dont pull this trigger...'
(then of course the stash itself is indeed found under the large metal bar and contains some food in it)
So this the kind of detalization and immersion factor which has been put into this aspect.
(btw we still however might a have a little suprise for you regarding rain & AI behaviour)
No weapons or ammo in stashes anymore?
What Stalker leaves his weaponry and ammunition behind when he explores the Zone?
That being said though... On rare occasions you will be able to find weapons or ammo for different reasons.
Maybe the junkie stalkers you mention in the picture? Surely stim abuse must lead to slightly impaired planning abilities.
I was just asking because so many of the vanilla stashes had weapons in them, but the new approach makes total sense.
Every stalker who is not Arnold, yet planned longer raid, surely wont carry all his ammo around all the time. Especially heavier ammunition like 7.62. (Each mag (usually 20 bul.)weights almost 1kg)
Where is my nutrition info? :(
At least this stash overhaul sounds awesome.
Another new desktop for me!!! :-)
Ahh you fixed stalker! (head explodes!!) not a gaming revolution, my ***... :-)
You all are like a dream team of stalker modding.
You mentioned tarpaulins, does that mean we're gonna be able to rig up shelter? :D
This mod is how I imagine STALKER is meant to be played... Mean, brutal and fun as hell :D

I like every single one of the ideas incorporated into this thematic area of the mod.
Will the backpacks spawn and disappear randomly, or is there a fixed amount of them, once they are gone they are gone and no new ones will appear?
They are fixed but vary between the USS class playthroughs
Damn. Now I have to take prisoners

"you must look harder OR force an NPC..." so stashes can still be found around like in vanilla, just different places and contents right?
Hey N.Aaroe
Does this mean the Sunrise Bodysuit you'd find in Zaton around the gas station will be changed ? I was going to suggest changing that and the one you'd find on the body of Barge as to limit the player's access to a early medium-grade suit.
