No, the balancing is messed up. But that's not only with the items but with the modification in general. But to be fair the items are less unbalanced than the player/npc one. No "invisible" items will shoot at you that are invincible... no items will 100% accurcy hit with a broken pistol on 300m and no item is a bullet sponge to begin with. Many items though had been totally useless. Contaminated food is totally unbalanced and certain repair items simply plain out broken not doing what the description tells.

In this regard the MDT really lived up to the motto of todays game developers: Quantity over Quality. The other way 'round would have been the right path to choose but for some reason MDT had 0% accuracy in that domain.

you are exaggerating. the npcs rarely headshot with broken weapons from that distance after 2.1v (you probably showed your position playing like CoD) and the bullet sponge lol.. for you the bullets from the zone have to be in perfect "condition" to penetrate everything...
about the contaminated food, have to tried smoking a pack cigs\drink after eating or playing with a different class?
the repair items always gave me the right % bonus.

it has some bugs and values a bit off nothing is perfect

mods or even games will never be balanced cos everybody has their own play style
its probably too hard for you but not for me

maybe this isn't a mod for you, there's plenty out there with easier game-play

Honestly playing the assaulter I had to go and make alot of tweaks and changes to make Misery and CoP itself play right for me.
satiety_v is way to high for him as he gets far too hungry. This big badass assault marine that should be able to eat things that make a billy goat puke (not as much the sniper) can't go a day even just eating a tin of tuna. Hell I can go for about 3 days without eating anything - and have done, long weekend :) And my metabolism is sky high!
It's a well known fact the human body can go for days without eating anything as long as you have water.

Radiation is too strong imho as you can get a fatal dose walking past something only slightly radioactive. you get it at the same time the giger counter goes off, which should be clicking before you get to the radiation.

Alot of things feel like realism gone wrong. I get that they want it hardcore and immersive but to me both of those things go out the window with the over done realism. Theres other ways to make the game more hardcore especially with the spawns because most places are lying empty and only get populated when you have moved away from the map and done certain tasks. Again I understand that they want it to be like the Road but how are you meant to survive with the hard trading if there is not enough mutants etc to scavnge from. I made a couple of balance changes to my own install and I'm considering releasing it when I see the new version of this. Other balance changing sub mods seem to take things to far and return the game to vanilla CoP. I only make changes to glaring things that completely kill the experience.

Aside from all that the mod is the only way to play CoP when combined with the Armed Zone! Good job Misery people!

Seriously, how did you accomplish that?
I tried turning on fallout and psistorms via editing the corresponding file and all it did was crash my game on starting anew or loading a savegame...

I've been checking in every couple of days for something new since the New year's update, I'm glad to see my patience rewarded. I can see more than a few new items in the picture, which is great. My only real gripes with the last build was the poor weapon textures and scope views on some of the weapons, apart from that everything else was extremely satisfying. The only other thing is I'd also like it if we could gather meat and hide from cats, rather than just tails, and for the sniper class' hunger to drain quicker; I found it too easy to feed Degtaryev, ending up with dozens of stacks of food, both healthy and unhealthy, stored away in various stashes.

Renegade and Clear sky badges?? Could it be true?? :O
Alsow, part of TAZ is leaking into Misery, wich is always good. :D

The great variety of items in Misery is one of many things that make this mod stand out from all others. The desire to kill and loot is much greater when you dont know what surprises a mercenary might carry. and its always nice to find a stash filled with goodies. Even if they are useless, they still bring that realistic fell of a true survival horror game.

Hey, everyone, first let me say that I have not had as much fun with any game I've ever purchased as I have with Stalker COP since you guys started the Misery Mod. It really has had a big impact and keeps me coming back for more time and time again. Beyond that, looking at all the guns, I have to say one thing that I really, really hope doesn't go unnoticed. I know a lot of suggestions keep coming in, but whomever does the weapons modeling needs to go back to the M4A1 and reduce the thickness of the rear sight. As it stands, the M4A1 is almost unusable due to how thick that rear peep is. While it looks good, and is (in reality) similar to what an individual would see when looking at one, due to the way the human eye works (as compared to the game), the thickness blocks too much of the screen and makes it hard to use. It should be thinned out to a thickness similar to that of the LR-300, or close. Additionally, someone needs to unfuck that LR-300 sight so it isn't down at the end of the Picatinny rail because that ****'s retarded. Thanks guys! I'd fix it myself, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to open any of these models in Autdesk Maya 2014.

WOW! I didn't realize you have a different icon for each usage! We just added this to engine. That would have been insane to do this by hand. This looks like a nightmare. God sends his love to the poor soul who had to do this.

Combine this with The Armed Zone , then it'll be "keep this one , or this one? This one got better damage , but i got more ammo for this one. Mayby take them both? Good idea."

Description

"Quality over quantity" was a popular phrase in our MDT forum during the development of MISERY 2.

A look at the famous (and drastically expanded) 'ui_equipment.dds' indicates that we are a freakish bunch of ambitious modders.

But what do You think? Did we balance it well?
