That's why tent crafting includes forming of an mini minefield. Remember you'r ear plugs or sounds of explosions mixed with sounds of agony might wake you up.

As long as NPC's are not blocked from wherever they wander, you can build it. Sawmill? You are adventurous with all the spawns that occur there :D

new maps of some of the static buildings that already occupy the maps would be sweet

This could have a lot more uses if there would be more maps in Misery 2.2. Vanilla maps don't have enough space for this to work effectively I think. Unless in a situation where you just have too much loot to carry back to the main base in one trip. Well I'll have to play and find out the uses I guess lol.

That breaks the True Stalker Feeling. There's nothing like sleeping in the outside with no protection and wake up with 7 snorks jumping into you to kick your face and kill you. And then remember you saved after you just woke up.

You simply won't wake up if a pack of 7 snorks are jumping on you, lost to the zone you shall be young padawan :v

Nah, on my game I always put a couple butterfly mines on some " tactical " points and sleep in a closed place where there's one or two only entrances. Then let a backpack on the floor, next to the bedroll and let equipped the suit / helmet and the weapons / ammo. Just so I feel a bit safe. Note: Don't put IED's. The k-boom is enough to kill the mutants, you and half of the building.

Great feature, but I think it will go wasted to some extent because the way the maps in CoP were designed with a centralized home base. So you never really travel far enough to need these items. I think for a future version on Misery you should introduce maps from previous games so you have much further distances to travel. This would be great for MISERY because you would have to manage your resources and gear for longer expeditions.

I have a lake full of mutants outside of The Farm; an industrial center crawling with mercenaries, bandits, and Monolith; most of Yantar's badlands north of Jupiter, and of course, all of Pripyat that beg to differ.

Lots of small rooms nothing ever enters, rooftops, etc. Low traffic is the key.

Seems to me like semi-permanent camps will suffer from the same issues as PDA-marked backpack stashes: good idea in theory, but not useful in practice.

PDA-marked stashes aren't very useful because all the places where you'd want to leave one (i.e near key mission areas and far away from the main stalker base for that map) also regularly spawn dangerous mutants and hostile NPCs. You'll usually have to fight your way to your own stuff, using up ammo, meds and other expendables. That pretty much defeats the purpose of a stash.

Permanent camps look like they'll have the exact same problem - and since they won't have traders like the main bases, you're going to have to go back to those main bases regularly anyway.

This would be amazing if the game world was as large as ARMA, but unless the next MISERY will have reasons to go right to the edges of maps, I can't see the reason for making a tent like this. And buildings are usually safer anyway!

would also be cool,

hint hint.

cold / wet / weather conditions.

during summer, might get too hot and need shade and water

during winter, might need a coat or hunker down in a tent with a fire to keep warm.

it already rains. why no seek shelter before you get sick.

those above conditions could effect health levels and need pain relievers to get better.

also when it rains a lot the swamps should get deeper and all that that implies

That's too bad. I only travel into the zone between 6 and 18 o'clock. With a break at the "home base" for about 2 minutes every 2 hours. I only sleep in the safe zones. I guess this would be useful in Dark Mode if you ended up staying out too long and there was too much radiation to make it back to the base, but I won't be using this feature.

SLEEP OVERHAUL
The stars at night are so beautiful… sometimes you are out in the zone and just don’t want to head back. You’re not expecting an emission; too bad you just can’t sleep out under the stars… well now you can! Introducing a whole new sleep system featuring your very own tent. You can create your own Home away from home in some nice out of the way spot.

HOW IT WORKS
Assembling your tent from a combination of old and new materials is easy. Materials include aluminum frames or titanium grid for framing, tarpaulin, ropes and bedroll. You can, of course, just really rough it and roll out your sleeping bag or sleep on your NRC Foil (NEW ITEM). The new Sleep Tier System will give you guidance. tier1: sb/nrc only tier2: tent+sb/tent+nrc tier3: safezone/tent+nrc+sb/beds-in-bases

Do you want a night of fitful sleep exposed to the elements and critters wandering nearby? You will be very hungry and feeling a little toasty from stray radiation. Use a tarp and frame and either a NRC foil or sleeping bag and you will sleep better; use foil and sleeping bag in your tent for best rest and wake less hungry and without the tan. Now mind you, a shiny and crinkly Being under your camo tarp muffles the sound and reduces sight line making it safer from further away.

You can now set up your own semi-permanent camp if you find the right spot. Inconsiderate stalkers who set up their tents in common pathways are likely to have them vandalized or destroyed by passing NPC’s who don’t feel like going around or jumping over your little Home on the Range. Combine a PDA marked backpack stash and only you will know the location of your secret hideaway and strategic stash of comforts and survival gear. It also matters where you sleep 'in the field' - sleeping in places which are also surge covers also negate penalties. Sleeping on dirty mattresses in beds and camps is quite safe.
