This week the MISERY Dev Team decided for the upload and we hope that you are not disappointed with what you see here. This is a feature that we have been working on for the past few months and it is now complete.

Yet another pic... Wiat, what, upload? Are you saying that you guys are actually uploading MISERY 2.0? Or did i misunderstood? If you are i can die happily. After finishing another playthrough with your superb mod of course ;)

I am very dissatisfied. There is one fix your team has not yet provided: make it so tomorrow is end of July. Where is dat fix? Seriously I thought you were pros. ;)

In all seriousness, I very much like this concept, reminds me off Fallout 3, just more fleshed out like with popular mods.

Do NPC's utilize this feature, or is it just for the player? If so, do the animal skins register aesthetically?

All i can says is wow the misery team has again outdone themselves now their will be a use to all of my hording.
Just a thought but several of the hides listed such as the blood sucker's implied that those who wore them were considered to be experienced stalkers would it be possible to give the player certain special deals or discounts if they were wearing different pelts the idea being that if a player has the skill to kill a blood sucker they deserve respect just an idea.

With this being said if I had to use duct tape as a tool on my rifle to fix something, will it show on my rifle or am I expecting a little too much? (Because if cant be fixed with duct tape then it's broken) But any event I'm loving the look of the repair system. When we enter the zone will we be given a basic gun cleaning kit or no?

You've got the "modern" and "neglected" models of most guns, maybe use improvised materials too much and standard issue materials too little and it turns into a "improvised" model. Worth considering for next time maybe, obviously too much work for 2.0 this late in the game.

Awesome stuff guys.

i've been playing 1.2 for a while now and i must say that i like what i see.

These small things make the game so much better, i'm more of a free roam, free play kind of guy, i RP abit, tend to have regular routins like the NPC's and do my stuff.

and the immersion and graphics are making it so much better, i mean i can actually RP myself into this game and just be in it.

And i just love it, i love this so much, and you have no idea how excited i am about 2.0, it kills my heart to wait 20 more days for release, it really does.

I never do main quests and such though, i just flow along, do my thing, RP, roam, do all that sort of stuff.

and once in a while i might do it cus the games makes me or i cant progress, but that's ok.

N.Aaroe, you and your dev team are the best,i love you guys for making this stuff happend, Huge thanks, and good luck to you guys.

Thanks friend. Please note that this is our ultimate goal to satisfy exacly approach like yours with our work.

I'd also like to add that what we're trying to do is that your RP is not something which you need to 'assume' and create for yourself on your own (like purposely restricting yourself from doing certain stuff to maintain the immersion).

We are working our ***** out so that its the game itself which induces RP-like behaviours onto you and makes it so that they are an effect of difficulty and mechanics.

I know that this might be a bold declaration here. We will be definately looking forward to hearing your opinion once we release in 3 weeks.

Until then - take care Stalker! :)

Reply Good karma+2 votes
ZirzoR
ZirzoR - - 25 comments

Well i dont "restrict" myself, its just that, when i RP i try to talk alot, dont do twitchy movements with the mouse, have a goal, have a morale value against bandits and such.

To just pretend that i am actually that person that i RP, To not just run and gun run att full speed ahead and just blast everything i see.

i take it slow, think about stuff alot, tend to sit still when i take medkits and whatnot "yeh i know you fix that in 2.0 but i just couldnt wait ;D"

To not take up before game generated items, like all dem stashes that are always there, unless i have info on them.

or that free upgraded suit underneath the burnt farmstead stuff like that i wont pickup.

Its just i want to be forced to survive, not just sit around waiting for main quest to finish, i've always disliked the feeling of having a main quest and doing what the game wants me to do.

i free roam constantly, Freeplay is the best, with a touch of RP, and 2.0 is gonna take this through the roof.

But i am never forced to RP, its just a choice i make, and sometimes i go as far as saying, "hey, if i die i cant reload my save"

True RP is permadeath, hard as **** but, hey immersion at its best when you truly value your life.

Here's my best attempt at translating the blurred part of the "Concept lore and background":

"Sorry for replying so late to this - this is a very awesome post to read.

I agree with everything that you said so I'll try to write something which will possibly enrich it.

I think this is good direction to tell the story of this world via many, related micro-stories of people living inside, with each one of them revealing only a small fraction of the much broader "universe" - like a single facet of an extremely complicated structure.

This does not only allow for telling interesting and unrelated stories which constitute value on their own (and which is easier than writing _____ point then creating a longer and larger scale narrative, right?), but they also kind of move the responsibility of comprehending the larger picture to players by themselves - suggesting that there is this "completely realized universe" evident, without actually requiring one to create it. (as I think it takes A_____ or M______ to be fully able to play open cards like they do)."

Description

MANUAL REPAIR OF WEAPONRY AND ARMORS

Started with the task of re-implementiong singular Repair Kit item known in many mods and has evolved into a system of:
- 25+ repair tools
- 50+ items usable for repair as materials or effectivity enhancers
- 500+ unique and intuitive combinations between them

All those items are scattered around the gameworld in every possible way which allows for improvised / makeshift repairs of equipment in the field.

This is especially important for armors as they degrade in logarytmic way - making damaged armor pieces attain additional damage at increasingly faster rate. This creates a notion of keeping armor pieces in constantly upper levels of condition.
