But it can also be asked for STALKER vanilla CoP too.

For me it's the Soviet architecture in STALKER games that sets them apart from the others. I grew up in one of the post-Soviet states in the Baltics and I have fond memories exploring the old abandoned buildings that were built during the Soviet occupation (I was born just after it)

I still remember the first time I downloaded one of those leaked STALKER builds back in the day (yes, naughty me, but I just couldn't help it, the curiosity was killing me) and the first time I walked into one of the buildings in that build - I got the same awesome feeling I had when I was exploring the old buildings in real life with my friends and messing around with all that cool old machinery etc. And that warm fuzzy feeling hasn't gone anywhere, I still get it while playing STALKER :)

Plus I really like the "look" and "feel" of the X-Ray engine. It's just so...Rugged, so robust - just like the Soviet architecture

Some members of the team have shared photographs of the region and between those and documentaries I've seen it is almost scary how well GSC captured the real world look and feel. I know xray and the graphics are severely dated, but I always liked them well enough. Feel and game play are much more important to me than pretty pictures. Now with AN4 you can also choose how pretty you make your Zone.

I was between Jasper and Hype one. But Im already testing 2.2, so Jasper will go.

Sorry lad.I don't want to make you jealous <3

May be REALISM can sum it up. Graphics, feeling, challenge, arsenal, etc. everything is about realism in STALKER and more than ever in Misery 2.x. I still remember the feeling the very first time I started "Black road" just the very first time I run Misery 2.0: it was a real life experience! Totally fell in love with it.

The presence of Jasper just made me stay, it's his "fault" if the hype about 2.2 is so high! Without him I think I had already give up waiting for 2.2...

to me it's the micromanagement :D cant get enough of digging through my garbage every morning and see what i have to work with for the day and trying to figure out what i can do

LOL!!!

You missed something bro: REPLAYABILITY! I am testing and EVERY SINGLE TIME I START A NEW GAME it is refreshingly new.. SO FREAKING ADDICTIVE! I truly can't get myself to play any other mods or even other games without getting bored. NOT with MISERY 2.2!

Plus All of the above and below..

LOL at that Jasper34 in the MDT option! Love it!

Then some are waiting for the NPC skinned as me to take pot shots at LOL. Replay value is very high on my list. We don't have true random number generation or the ability to really randomize things like stashes yet, but we do our best.

True, REPLAYABILITY is one great factor that make Misery so great. And even micromanagmenet, even if I'd love to have it more in detail (like drinking water, cold, etc.).

Oh, there are some reasons for myself to be grappled onto train into the Zone:

Random loot always makes me grin when I find a REALLY good repairable late-game weapon (to give you the idea, camoflagued AK-74 from ambush at Dredge Station is something like this) from an early bandit/merc/Duty dude drop, and while it can be frustrating at times (finding PARA FN-FAL for example), that's what makes me satisfied with my trips - I can stumble across pain and misery (poor sell value, low quality items), or sometimes get something really shiny (gold teeth jar is my favourite) to buy another adrenaline shot for the next day.

What's more, I guess, is the changed behaviour of some mutants, such as dogs and snorks (these were easy one-shots back in the vanilla if you went for the head. Now it doesn't always work, but well placed shots still do the trick).

And... improved AI of human enemies. I can finally more or less tell where the enemies are, except the fact that they can sometimes shoot through solid glass and through walls. The behaviour is predictible after some time, sure, but it's fun to adapt to, and it surely makes it a hella harder experience. (Still hate perfect arcs of enemy grenades, though).

Gabe also mentioned micromanagement, and sometimes I literally spent hours of my playtime just going through what I have, selling unwanted, previously stashed stuff and generally prepare for later parts of the game. Sure it adds the taste to the experience, too, but it can be tedious at times due to three major areas where you have a stash at your disposal and it's usually a pile of fully modified guns, unused armor, etc. But not always! Always happy to earn a little extra rubles when I need them badly for a new suit or to order a head-to-toe full weapon modification at technician's.

And I voted for Jasper because lulz; He keeps the atmosphere not stale with anticipation, and often gives us a sign that things are progressively moving forwards.
