If you guys are wondering if Stealth actually works in Misery, the answer is yes. It works great but do need to pay attention how we play.

I was poking around and found out Ghillie suit has it's own stealth factor in ai_tweaks.ltx, under gamedata/config/ai_tweaks.

the line detect_range factor = 0.3 is the default value. After few hours of testing I am sure if the value is 0.03 it means the detection range is literally 3 yard in game. NPCs can't detect player even in full sprint. Default will be 30 yard approx. I am setting mine about 10 yard, so it is possible to sneak very close to enemy even the weather is clear.

For these who want to play ninja it is fun to get Ghillie suit then set the detection range next to melee for example 0.01

Btw the suit does not cover player from mutant detection range. I found this out the hard way, pack of dogs teared my suit to pieces and the repair price almost made me cry. Buying a suit is 96k at Nimble and the drunk got the balls to charge me 120k for full repair. No choice since the suit condition is 0.

that is good to know, how do npcs react when they get shot at, do they need longer to detect you? "strolling sideways with raised gun"

Bonesetter - You look a touch pale, how about a little injection or two?

Once alerted camo settings become nullified. 2.2 will bring camo effects to all weapons and armor. Shorter and longer detection ranges, coupled with a factor which effects how much slower they are to notice you. Running gets you noticed faster. Even being invisible via the console command doesn't protect you from some mutants.

If NPC got shot at they will raise gun and look at general direction where shots come from.

The ones I shot don't get up, 100% headshot. At 10 yard with scope weapon you can decide which teeth you want to knock out first.

@Jasper, it's nice to know there are more camo settings. Stealth does work in this game, with Ghillie suit it works pretty well. I guess I am going full stealth when 2.2 come out. NV, silenced weapon with camo, night raids only.

It is amazing, even weapons have effect on being spotted. Shiny = D.E.A.D Suits have Night and Daytime camo ratings.

Actualy a lot more was changed in upcoming 2.2 release, not only that ghillie suit effect is spreaded on all outfits and weapons, few other things were changed as well regarding AI tweaks. There some changes made in stalker*.ltx files regarding AI detection by Trojanuch as well.

All is blended well in gameplay and it is available in test lab for quite long time, most of members who have tried it are probably forgot how 2.1.1 feels compared to Misery 2.2.

If there is enough interest, I could wrote down comparison between 2.1.1. and upcoming Misery 2.2., maybe to publish on news section or even on facebook page.
What do you think Jasper about it ?

Sounds good to me. You're right, I can barely remember half the differences between 2.1.1 and 2.2 now.

Oh sweet baby jesus yes. More updates on 2.2 is always good.

By the way, can the engine detect if the player is moving and if the player is on natural terrain (not inside a building or on concrete)?

Note to self/all: Don't knife monolith. Fucker goes down then "boom", I had to remember where I saved last....

Ghillie suit will serve great for sniper even with default value. However with Jasper reduced mutant relations it is very dangerous if the sniper got caught in the wrong spot. Ghillie suit does not serve well as armor, at all. All resistance are below average and suit durability is complete shit, as if it is made out of paper bags. 2 charges from psudodogs will take out 11% of the armor, no good against mutants.

Except for having to restore an old save I bet it made you laugh. I wouldn't mind more booby traps ... a few grenades in tin cans, trip wires, etc. I keep trying to convince them to allow a half mask or half dome helmet to the Ghillie and maybe some extra armor attachment slots. It really is like wearing a paper bag.
