Seasoned Stalker Achievement | Locked | |

Having a little trouble getting seasoned Stalker, I'm a vanilla veteran and have achieved it in every other release of misery, but playing 2.1 now and preparing for pripyat and I can't seem to get the achievement. I've been to the leccy field in the Jupiter attic and also the caves under the farmstead and the (usually forgotten about) circus anomaly. Don't think it's a bug cause no one else seems to have complained, but was hoping someone could throw some suggestions my way incase I've forgotten somewhere? Beats making expeditions all over the place to check! |

You have to visit all anomalies in Zaton and Jupiter. Zaton is easy all the anomalies there are marked as an area. Edited by: Nyayr -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log" |

Finished all missions and have otherwise maximum achievements so that rules out Quarry(splinter/flint quest) Attic(high tech achievement for all nitro tools though as recon I didn't even find any there grr) Grove(anomalous plant mission) and Cement Factory (Nitro materials quest). Must be missing somewhere obvious! Guess I'm going trekking...sigh *starts purchasing titanium frames* Edited by: htkblazer |

You might have to enter an anomaly deeper, for it too work. For the circus example you have to be in the heat zone. -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log" |

Yeah that's what I'm doing now - and circus was the first one I checked but to no avail. Iron Forest and Scar didn't turn anything up either so I'm off to Oakpine. Thanks for the advice though, if you have any other ideas, don't be shy! I'll post as soon as I get it. |

I haven't been able to get seasoned stalker either. I'd figured it had been removed at some point. |

Nah everyone else has got it, it's just us buddy! We've missed somewhere, probably really obvious too. I'm in the process of going round everywhere, I'll post here if I find it. I've got a feeling about Oakpine...'lets just hope the mutts stay away'! |

I've just finished visiting every anomaly or anomaly field in both Zaton and Jupiter without getting the achievement. I never had trouble getting it in vanilla. Absolutely certain it was not changed in 2.1? |

No, snip from stalker wikia snap. This one is fairly straight-forward to earn - a player can find it without reaching Pripyat. The player simply needs to go and explore each of the named anomaly fields inside Zaton and Yanov. This includes the Anomalous Grove, Quarry, and other anomaly fields in Yanov that the player does not plant detectors in. This includes the unnamed electrical anomaly field where the fine tools are located in Yanov, inside the orange building. The other unnamed anomaly field which is needed for the achievement is the electrical one at the Cement Factory (also in Yanov). The player should earn the achievement automatically. Oddly, if the player has not earned it by the time they get to Pripyat, the anomalies there might give the achievement, suggesting that there is a certain number of visited anomalies that unlocks the achievement, and not simply "all" of the anomalies. This means you have to get in every area and relatively close too it and not just graze the edges. Edited by: Nyayr -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. I did. Very deliberately. In fact for the sake of posterity, here's every location I visited: - Boiler anomaly. Inside of it. Picked up a fireball. - The quarry. Ran around a bit to cover ground, found a stone blood. That's it. Did I miss anywhere? This would've been enough to get the achievement in vanilla. Edited by: Noworky |

Well you must have missed 1, cause I got the achievement now in 2.1 in two freeplays as recon and assaulter. I once thought I missed 1 too turned out it was the circus. (I had visited it but reloaded cause the artefact was crap). You might to do a run around revisiting all of them again, to be sure. Or do the orange thing I noted. Rather thorough indeed. It appears you and I are in the same boat here. I'm hoping against odds that we are still missing one somewhere, so obvious we'll double facepalm. But I guess we'll find out when we go to Pripyat and whether or not we get Seasoned Stalker then. I've Only just finished thoroughly checking Zaton today so and I'm still saving for a Bulat so it appears you may make it to Pripyat before me. Let me know if you succeed. |

Cement factory has 2 anomalies - 1st is on the top of main building (electric anomaly) and 2nd is inside the building, i believe on the 2nd floor( fire anomaly). i think u visit the 2nd, where you found mama's beads. You prob went to the top coz thats the way to get inside the building, but it wont hurt to check again. |

The space anomaly that teleports you atop the plateau is an option if you haven't already went through it. |
||
Jun 8 2014 Anchor | ||
Yeah, I re-did the Cement Factory as has Noworky in his description. I have also used the space anomaly to walk to Yanov several times and Interestingly enough that you mention, I also visited the Plateau again via the teleporter - and a f***ing giant came rumbling out of the caves! So no luck yet, but thanks for the suggestions, keep em' coming! |

Oakpine climbing on top might not be counted the same as wondering in the poison itself. Same with the claw, you have to get in the area range. Did both. Also I've definitely been through the space anomaly before, as I've already investigated the chopper on the plateau. Additionally: - Space anomaly at the iron forest I think this is bugged. Unfortunately I can't figure out where in the game data the game defines which areas must be visited in order for the achievement to be granted. Probably in the level files. You say you only acquired the achievement in freeplay? Does that mean you'd also visited Pripyat anomalies? Edited by: Noworky |
||

It isn't bugged, it is literally you have to visit 23 or 24 spots. If you go to pripyat and visit an anomaly there you likely get it. I got it before freeplay twice, but just say one time I couldn't figure out where I missed it and got it at the flame spouts in pripyat, so I know it is number related and not location. -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log" |

I presume therefore that said number is the exact number of visitation opportunities in zaton and Jupiter. I agree, I don't think it's bugged because everybody else has it and we can't be the only ones to try to get it before pripyat. The only other thing is there may be some sort of series of events or actions that we have triggered which has absurdly nullified a visit to one or more places and we'll need to use pripyats areas to get our quota. It's not a big deal, as long as it can be achieved eventually. |
||
Jun 9 2014 Anchor | ||
I finally managed to get it. Visiting the Zaton swamp anomaly triggered it. No idea how or why, as I'd already pranced through that anomaly covering as much ground as possible. |

You might have gotten a CTD before and had to reload that can happen around there more often. Edited by: Nyayr -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log" |

I knew it! There must be something nullifying the fact that you are in a certain location, with regards to Seasoned Stalker. The only question is, is it limited to the Swamps? Or does the criteria for Seasoned Stalker believe that I am short of several locations?! Which ones?!! Let's not forget the amount of running around you did, any one of those places might have added to the criteria! Bugger...
Mmm but wouldn't I therefore not have examined the Stingray? If I've carried out missions in an area = I've been to that area. If I'd reloaded after a ctd = I'd still have missions to do. And I don't. Up until now I have ruled out all of the areas I HAVE to have visited to complete missions and have been retracing my steps to other areas, ie Circus. I'll maybe focus on Swamps for a bit, Noworky is there any specifics to your successful visit to the swamps? Anything you did that was unusual? What were the circumstances for you visit? |
||
|
Jun 10 2014 Anchor | |
Getting the sting ray is not entering the swamp itself. Some areas like the quarry, swamp and other toxic places you need to get the area deeper then just graze the edges. For example climbing on the oak pine tree does not count as been there. So it is the X and Y axis. Edited by: Nyayr -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. I should note, I got Seasoned Stalker achievement in Pripyat from visiting X8. Or maybe from the Underground Tunnels, I didn't check my stats for some time until coming back from X8 and hadn't been to any ground level anomaly sites in town. So I still don't know what was missing in Zaton / Jupiter |
