Some of the scopes in Misery were bugging me, sure it's just personal taste but it seemed like they tried to hard to make the sights look fancy and technical.

For me this ended up with me having to look and pay attention at to where the center was rather then just feeling where it was, if that makes sense. This meant trying to get a headshot, especially on a moving target was frustrating, like I had to double check that I was in fact aiming where I wanted.

I checked for a mod but couldn't find one to my taste, I basically just wanted some of the sights to have less of the fancy techno-babble/clutter and rather have something to aim quickly and clearly. So I managed to edit the scope sights that were bugging me, and thought I'd share the end result incase anyone else felt the same. There are no radical changes, because I wanted to keep the style the same and I'm not good enough drastically alter them.

Now I am no photoshop guru, my "technique" is pretty much that of copy/paste certain parts of an image and messing with functions with names I know nothing about. Though I do feel the end results are worth sharing and I'll admit in part that it's also "look at me, I did it, yay".

I've only altered a few of the scopes, you can easily view the .dds files in Paint.net or any decent image viewer such as IrFanView or XnView and compare the change to the original file before trying it ingame.

Still since it's basically a graphics mod I thought I'd post some comparison images so one can more quickly see if they're interested. Here's a gallery with a few comparisons and a few shots of aiming/shooting something in the distance Imgbox.com I'll try embed some in the bottom of the post.

I uploaded the new textures here En.file-upload.net , inside the .rar archive the folder structure is the same as in the MISERY game folder so you should easily see where to put the files to replace the old ones, also it's never a bad idea to backup old files before replacing them with a mod.

Some smaller cropped images...
