I have been playing around lately with a spawner for this mod,and I found out there are zombies(not talking about zombified stalkers) and they look like they could serve as a nice addition to the game,they sometimes feign death when not properly killed,they could yield some miscellanous loot and body parts.
Make them common in Pripyat,inside the abandoned buildings of that area,and rare in Yanov.
so upon the late game you will have more what to shoot and be careful of.
what do you,Stalkers, think?

Izloms are nice too,they are called Fracture in the spawn menu.
The zombies also appear to have a ghost variant,the same as a regular zombie,only translucent,very hard to spot.
There's another variant which I can't remember its name,and it is a zombie with a semi-dark purple texture(unfinished/work in progress?),which could be another visual variant of the regular zombie.

Yeah, I like the zombies. Specially how GSC made them to act dead and wake up.

I strongly support this, they are Imo the creepiest zombies ever! Most zombies in other games are just weird dirty people trying to bite you but I find civilian zombies to be really disturbing.

Haha yeah,you got that right,they really do terrify me when they come towards you with their screams of agony and starvation.

I wonder why they didn't add them in... Would they cause more lag or something?

I think civilian zombies are a bit weak since they are quite slow moving compared to other mutants.( they appear to be weak and slow in many SOC mods) that's perhaps the reason why MDT didn't include them. Plus, if they were included, they might be the easiest enemy of all. It would be a shooting gallery and easy mutant hunting. Despite the the zombies can cheat death, players simply can spray more bullets to take them down completely. To make them as dangerous as other mutants, their speed, hit points and attack should be increased. To add more fear towards them, include horrifying sound for them. Regarding Izlom, they should be made to move fast and have high damage attack. I think civilian zombies should be spawned in pripyat only since there are many apartments there and it makes sense to have them there. Izlom can be spawned either in zaton or jupiter, or in both. Just my opinion though. ;)

Good points right there.
That's why I said make them common in Pripyat and in Yanov rare(some made it through all the radiation).
They can be real pests,they should come in groups or sometimes alone.
I also think that because you're in the late game stages,you're using expensive ammo and you're going to have to waste it on something that worthless in terms of loot.
About Izloms,if it would be like that,I would shit my pants if I see one running towards me.

Zeds have no place in this.

Like I said, zeds have no place here. This isn't C0D zed mode.

But I still think you're missing something(s):

-These zombies aren't the typical COD'ish that you just point and spray,this is Misery,you're under different circumstances than COD where ammo is abundant and no gear getting degraded.

-The zombies require a few good shots to confirm its death unlike in COD where it takes like 2-3 bullets to mow them down.

-The Izlom could serve as a serious potential threat in Pripyat along with the other mutants and the Monolith,adding more challange.

and Why do you compare GSC's zombies to COD's?

I think people are getting tired of zombies in FPS games thanks to COD series to start the trend of zombie shooting.

Aug 31 2013 Anchor

How about adding some sort of "alarm" thingy? Very rarely in Prypiat, some alarm would sound if you are in an industrial building. And then, a lot of zombies and izloms come to attack the building.

Could be,but I still think zombies of GSC are profoundly different than the COD zombies.

If you're an even half-decent Misery player, then your first point is invalidated.

You really can't get past the first round of C0D Zeds? LOL !

Having zeds in Pripyat is like still having Nimblar in the Skadovsk for the Misery Mod: A joke.

I can barely speak and understand Russian.

Now lets stay Ontopic please.

I actually support this as well. You'll have to decide weither to waste more rounds in the half undead dead zombie or quickly escape as more of them come at you. And they'll be in abundance in Pripyat and they'll be in groups of five or six to make them a challenge. (Or just really hard to kill, radiation dulled their nerves over the years or something)
The civilian zombies where the creepiest zambies i've ever faced imho ;_;

I have to say, i love the fact that there no "typical" Zombies in the Zone but PLS put in Izloms they're no Zombies and they're just creepy so PLS can someone either post a way to edit the spawns or write the shit an upload it?

In Jupiter Plant on 2.1, i found the "normal" zombies (zombified soldiers) along with the izlom and two others: invisible izlom and long-armed zombies. The izlom and invisible variety just shuffled towards you without any weapons. If you let them get within striking range they could hit you for serious damage. One shot to down them and one to finish them off (they play dead and then get up later). The long-armed zombies lope around on all fours similar to a snork, but not as fast as one. They attack with their hands at close range for serious damage. All of these new variants can drop some serious loot, including ruble coins, zombie hands, and various odds and ends.
