Hi all, I installed this mod, being very enthousiast, and I mean the beginning of the game is really fun. However, I do not understand at all how are you supposed to mass any amount of money. Whenever I loot stuff, I sell it, I don't keep anything but the begining sniper rifle and shotgun : however, all my money is used buying food and cigarets. My suit and clothes helmet are completly broken, but I just don't have the money. Thanks |

You are aware you can loot the mutants you kill? Not every mutant will have stuff, but most will have at least 200-300 credits worth of parts. You don't have to buy all your food, and you shouldn't be buying a bunch of antirads. I sell lots of food and antirads. I'm currently playing dark mode, black road recon, and just purchased the 88k SEVA suit, and an 18k modern psh, after about 5 days (well, nights really, it's dark mode!). |

This is the beauty of the Misery Mod. The high buying/low selling price was designed in such away most of us will have to think ahead of each trip. Micromanagement for the inventory in Misery will bring more pleasure for these who knows how to enjoy it. |

Just start murdering people. Your loot will pile up in tens of thousands in a matter of hours(I manage with hundreds of thousands lol) |

I'll lone you some credits! Meet me at Yanov Station at 19:00 I'll be waiting with some vodka! |

Well during the bandit raid on Sevestroikastochkayawhatever (when you have to choose between heloping beard or sultan), I looted every guy, but this loot was like worth 1600RU, which is the price of a can of safe food. When you tell me not to buy all food and antirads, okay, but the character needs to eat all the time, and whenever you step in a radiation bathed zone you are instantly c> I don't loot food very often. So basically your advice is to roam the map and try to farm mutants and NPCs to sell? With what I saw, getting money this ways means you have to spend hours doing it, and that the stuff durability/food you'll spend doing it anyways be a big cut in whatever you can gain. |

Yes, farm NPCs and Mutants for loot. You will find better shooters eventually, find stuff you can sell(loot everything). IF you shoot them stalkers in the knees several times, they may go down or surrender once wounded and you can approach and ask them "politely" to hand over all their shit. They may give you brand new mint condition weaponry- which you can sell if it's not to your liking or type. Also. This mod is meant to be very hard. I honestly only find it hard the way I play it currently. If I die at least once - I restart the game from a new game. I also only play Black road start. Haven't died in two game days straight as of yet. |

Stashes around Skadvosk easily kick you to 40k if you sell the high end kits and others items in them. I don't go for iron man but might be fun I reckon. Edited by: Nyayr -- Avoid using autosaves, use hard saves only. Logs are located in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\xray_....log" |

Also note you will not die from starvation (at least didn't happen to me yet). I purposely tested my Recon and let him starve for days. All I really losing is Stamina. |

Misery mod is intended entirely for the purpose of playing similar to how you would go about actually living in this environment. It is NOT perfect, nor real >_> But the general idea is that you do not get shot, stabbed, blownup or mauled, etc etc. Play as careful as you were the guy. If you play like all the other games that suppose you to be godlike and dual wield weapons like a ninja, then this mod is not for you. Seriously....hate...dual wield....*pukes at the utter idiotic idea*. The only thing to make the games better in my opinion would be a head tilt to meet the iron sites. As holding a firearm as most games that use iron sites, would knock you teeth out with the gun stock lol But enough ranting. Hunt critters, blast bandits and find stashes. Max out the Heavy Overcoat and make certain to grab both weight based buffs. Use the Sphere 8 helm until you can get a sphere12 helm. AAAnnnnnndddd avoid Controllers at all cost or stay frig behind solid objects until you can run like hell ^_^ |

I never buy food, instead I buy a gas cooker and jerry cans and cook mutant meat to eat, and then just smoke cigarettes or drink water after to get rid of the rads. Cigarettes and drinks are easy to find as loot. There's a gas cooker in a stash between the substation workshop and the Iron Forest. Do the Bloodsucker mission, it'll earn you a nice amount of money and loot to sit on. See here for info on that and more. I make a lot of money from selling ammo. I used to hoard all kinds of ammo 'just in case' I got a good weapon to fire it later, but it's better to just flog it off right away. Search around for stashes too, as others have said. Anything free is a boon in Misery. Scavenge too! Ninja the loot from NPCs kills, don't think about the ethics because those thieving gits would do the same to you too. You can hunt mutants but it doesn't really pay off unless you're killing them in a few shots of low cost ammo and/or are a Sniper. Hunting bandits is more profitable as long as you don't get shot back. |

Okay I started a game again and it went much better. I still have a few questions : |
||
Nov 4 2014 Anchor | ||
Firstly, it's cheaper to buy a new helmet than to repair jokers. Secondly, only pay for repairs if it's less than 10% damaged. If it's more damaged than that, either use a repair kit, or just use it until it's junk and dump it. Thirdly, the weapons you find are mostly to sell as loot... if you find one that's 50% damaged, and use repair kits with good additional components, it can be slightly cheaper than buying it new... but not much. Mostly your new guns will be bought, or quest/stash items. Hunting is most cost effective with shotguns. Flesh and boars will go down to 2 shotgun shots, which is only 50-60 rubles worth of ammo. If you complete Gonta's hunting the chimera mission, without either of your allies dying, you will get a new fully repaired shotgun... and shotguns in general are very durable and low maintenance. |

Just to let you know. Using antirads drains your satiety I think and makes you sleepy(you get very hungry) so sell that crap and use vodka/metal bottles/water/beard's tea/cigarettes instead of the crap Antirads to get rid of the radiation of consuming cooked mutant meat. Don't even try to consume uncooked mutant meat. |
||
Nov 5 2014 Anchor | ||
Okay thanks x) - you get hungry when you are tired? How do you know if you're hungry because you lack sleep, or just because you're famished? Thanks for the answers, it's really helping me out x) I think it's a good idea to make repairs expensive, however they should give the option to repair X % of a weapon's condition for an according price, so you can up a 10% weapon to 25% so you can repair it with a kit or so. I've got a 20% SKS (which is great for snipers, it's like an assault rifle, but more precise and with semi automatic fire), and a 20% striker (i dunno how it's called in misery, it's the big ass revolver like shotgun), but it's like 80k RU + to repair, which is kind of a shame :/ Edited by: CheekesNekes |

Search for stashes, they usually have repair kits, buy "Weapon spare parts" from owl or beard and use them with the repair kits to fix your weapon by a hefty 50 percent or similar. |
||
Nov 5 2014 Anchor | ||
Oh okay thanks ! About cooking, what is the point actually? Cooked mutant meat is still radioactive, so why is it interesting to cook? From which faction comes Bonesetter? Edited by: CheekesNekes |
||
Nov 5 2014 Anchor | ||
I don't know if the reputation suffers. I killed at least a hundred stalker in my playthrough and beard and owl still talk to me like it was nothing and stalkers ignore me until i shoot them. Never bothered with the function of cooking. All the food I eat(cooked mutant meat included) is from the stalker bodies I loot. Get for example a repair kit with a single use for shotguns or rifles which doesn't really cost that much and buy spare weapon parts(an item called like that which looks like a broken down ak) Combine these two to fix that weapon and you will probably have an 80 percent good condition gun. Just repair it with the rest of the crap you may have (gun oil/glue or similar) and it'll be 1000 percent or sacrifice several more thousand rubles to get it fixed by a mechanic. |
||
Nov 5 2014 Anchor | ||
Yeah, actually since trading is so important in this mod, I was conscious about my choice between factions. If you side with freedom after getting nitro his radio items, you don't suffer raise in prices from this mecanic but hawaiian sells and buys much more favorably. |
||
Nov 5 2014 Anchor | ||
hmm. I use les miserables submod and repair kits are slightly less costly. A single use repair kit for rifles is around 12-14 thousand. And you can find them in stashes and on corpses. I never buy them to be honest, just spare weapon parts and some other crap. Read descriptions which would be the least pricey choice and can repair weapons from 65-70 percent when you want to finish those repairs. Those tools cost really cheap. |

I'm having the issue the people on the thread talk about (crash to desktop) : "C:\Program Files\bitComposer Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\bin\xrCore.dll" at 001B:00A2E12E, xrDebug::backend()+174 byte(s)" when I load a save. Edited by: CheekesNekes |

Is it after les miserables mod ? I think you need to start a new game and change your class, then exit game and change back to what class you want to play with. That is after you follow the instruction of installing the mod |
||

Yes, well it still makes the game crash :/ |
