Graphic glitch | Locked | |

It's my first time that, playing any game, any STALKER, any mod, I see this! Other times, withs STALKER games, vanilla or modded, I've never seen this. It's strange, it seems a graphics glitch due to problem with rendering: some colored lines or triangles that go straight from a point where the character is looking at, all the way through the screen. Firstely I tought about a problem with my old AMD graphic board (AMD Radeon HD 6970 Toxic 2 GB), but it's strange because the glitch, when it appears (not so ofter, hopefully), is always where there are fire-fights and coming from that very point, if I look to another point of the map it disappears, it's like coming from there, like a light from a lighthouse! If it was an hardware issue it should be regardless of the point of the map and it should be seen almost always, right? Here is a screenshot: see the blue line all through the screen? Imagine it fading and blinking and changing color and just coming from that point of the map. If I enter in a house or turn I do not see it, it's like it was part of the map itself: Edited by: SilverBlack78 |

Are you running any add-ons/mods besides MISERY? |

Are you using ATI GPU card perhaps ? I was having similar thing and it is reperted by other ATI GPU users too. It is due faulty ATI drivers, nothing much can be done from modder side. -- |

You might try generic Windows WHQL drivers, they might work better. |

No other add-ons, Misery 2.11 "vanilla". Yes, ATI, or more precisely: AMD Radeon HD 6970 Toxic 2 GB The driver is the last one available for my card: 16.2.1 But can I exlude a hardware issue? I'm running Misery in DX11 full en dyn light mode. Should I try DX10? HDAO or BDAI may have influence? |

They won't cost you anything to try. Sometimes GPU manufacturers take a step back with their drivers. Nvidia came out with a really bad one a couple updates ago and static lighting was ruined until the next update. If changing renderers doesn't do the trick, try uninstalling your AMD driver package and let windows install what it wants. WHQL has good and bad drivers too LOL. It is a crap shoot sometimes. |

Ok, thank you! I'll let you know if I can fix it. Just for chornicle: I do not update the driver since a year, because this one is the last one for my card! This winter I played "Raise of the Tomb Raider", a quite demanding game for graphics, and, with middle settings, it run fine and flawlessly, like any other game before. |

If it works, why buy another one |

Tried with DX10+HDAO and DX10+HBAO, but it doesn't change anything. |

Did you try the latest WHQL driver 15.7.1 instead of the beta driver? |
||

No, but how can I uninstall the last I have to installa a previous version? IIRC a previous version does not install on the top o a newer one... However the version I have should not be beta. |

I have not found the previous driver yet, but here is the info on your current beta driver Support.amd.com |

Thanks for now! UPDATE: I think I've fixed it by using DX9 (Enhanced Full Dynamic Light). In this mode, I do not see any difference with DX10/11 and loadings time are even faster. |
