Please vote for your favorite shotgun of Stalker MISERY
(iron sight alignments must be ignored in this subject as they will be corrected).

For me the shotties biggest negative is the loading time, so I will give the Saiga my vote but any other quick load version would make a nice change.

sawnoff
It's light, small, and climatic in use. I feel badass when i kill someone with it.

On my first play-through of Misery I acquired Saiga, but I quickly sold it, because it felt too powerful. Firefights weren't really challenging with that.

True that. It's like USAS-12 from BF 3.

It's actually a sawnoff Mosin Nagant 1891 (uses the same caliber!).
But practically it acts just like a shotgun and is used as such so it falls in that category

SAIGA-12 is obvious choice :D.
It may feel little bit overpowered but I've got a it at last moment and I'm glad it saved my ass from Chimera in Pripyat :D.
Just add more recoil to it N.Aaroe and it should be more balanced then.

Winchester 1300 or SPAS-12 for me. I prefer the Winchester because it has non-obscuring sights, but both have great range and accuracy, and the tube mag allows for mixed loads. I also like that you can do single-shell emergency loads pretty quickly on both of these combat shotguns, but I need to do testing to see which of the two is faster at doing that.

sawn off duble barrell :D its light and powerfull if u empty both barrelsat once, for me its essential against blood suckers :D

First off, i love shotguns and make a lot of use of them in this game. I usually start with the double barrel then move to the winchester ASAP and finally i use the protecta as soon as i can complete the diplomat achieve and kill jack w/o reprecussions... hehe

i probable would use the saiga more... but the bug with it flying around the screen when ADS and using buckwhot makes it unusable for me. also it is nearly game breaking in its overpoweredness even when i dont use the glitchy iron sights.

anyways id have to say protecta because its such a cool and unique weapon.

Saiga 12. The best!

I preferred most of the high-ammo-capacity shotguns over the one/two shots, if I had to pick one, but I didn't use them too much, as opposed to a sniper or assault rifle with the right ammo. I wonder if I was missing out.
What are the gun laws in the Ukraine, by the way? I actually have no idea. I ask because I would think that a legal firearm (and its ammo) might be more common than an illegal one. I suspect that's already been implemented from what I'm reading, with sniper rounds being rare.

Either the Armsel Striker or the Spas-12. The Striker because its just plain awesome, and its good for fighting Bloodsuckers, Chimeras, Psudogiants, and Burers. I like the Spas-12 because of the sight fix and the recoil screen effect. The Spas-12 is very well done, but I have never shot a shotgun before so my opinion may be flawed.

SPAS-12 is the ONLY way to go my friends.
The ultimate combo is a reliable shotgun for mutants, along with a moderately long ranged weapon for anything else.
The rest of your carrying weight is for a few bandages and maybe a medkit or two.

Always keep some empty space to spare, mostly in case you stumble across a treasure trove of artifacts or mutant parts.

Either that, or play Bandit hardmode. FILL your inventory with diet sausage and energy drinks, the only weapon you can use is a rusty sawn-off.

I bear a hard love for BM-16 and hate for it's sawn-off version at the same time. Just like Świrekster I like to play the game hard, badass and climatic with a beautiful, old doublebarrel. This rifle is quintessence for me, even though I'm in 1%. Can't wait to play hunter in 2.0!

BM-16 all the way! 10% and the 20% accuracy upgrades are perfect for chimeras and Mercs in exo-suits. (head shot people) Now i need one with a PSO scope

First of all im partial to the mossberg because I own a 500A Roadblocker but I also love the sawn off, the winchester 1300, and the bm 16 but then again love the spas12 and the saiga I gues I love them all. Idk ever since the days of Doom and the first time I popped a zombies head off in Resident Evil Directors cut on PS1 shotties have been my fav. AS far as the saiga being over powered thats just because this game is realistic, shotguns are powerful firearms in the real world they are not gonna dial it back or lower the mag size to "balance" the weapons you want balance play Team Fortress or half-life or something. I hate the fact that so many so called "realistic shooters" dumb down these shotguns becasue some crybaby witha sniper rifle gets turned into red wall paint by them. Maybe you shouldve picked a good close range weapon for back up. :-P

I'm quite used to the Protecta in vanilla CoP so it's my best friend for CQC in Misery.

Aug 14 2013 Anchor

The protecta has higher damage per shot than the saiga and enough ammo capacity that I don't worry about reload times so much. Protecta gets my vote.

Aug 16 2013 Anchor

Is there a Saiga that can receive tier 3 upgrades? the base version cannot.

Aug 16 2013 Anchor

Oh come on, no love for the Toz-34? Its a great starting hunting weapon, only problem is the reload time and low ammo capacity. I got a pristine condition Toz-34 (alternate) and haven't stop using it since (Still in Zaton, as im pretty new.)
