Is there a way to change weather, or disable the heavy fog weather? Because I'm being full auto sniped by badguys I have no chance of seeing, the fog doesn't seem to bother them.

And simply sleeping isn't a good way to deal with it, because it will be a clear sunny day and I'll reload the save after getting killed, and sometimes it will suddenly be foggy.

I think you can just go into gamedata\configs\environment\weather and delete all the 'veryfoggy' profiles from AF3.

Sorry to raise an old thread like this, but from what I can tell, the safest way to disable the heavy fog without risking crashes is to go to:

gamedata\configs\environment\dynamic_weather_graphs.ltx

Edit it with Notepad++ or something similar. Most of the graphs look like this:

[atmosfear_clear]
clear = 0.2
partly = 0.3
foggy = 0.1
veryfoggy = 0.1
cloudy = 0.3
rain = 0
storm = 0

Replace

veryfoggy = 0.1

with

veryfoggy = 0.0

and add 0.1 to one of the other options. In my case, the graph ended up looking like this:

Just so it's clear, adding the percentile to another option may or may not be necessary. I'm not sure, but I don't want to take the chance of having the game just randomly crash because I didn't take the precaution of balancing out the graphs.

[atmosfear_clear]
clear = 0.2
partly = 0.3
foggy = 0.2
veryfoggy = 0.0
cloudy = 0.3
rain = 0
storm = 0

Do the same for every instance of veryfoggy being mentioned, and you should be able to disable the heavy fog, which doesn't seem to cause the enemies any problems in this version. If you don't want some of the other weather types, even, you can adjust them as needed. If you need any help, let me know. Been working on this stuff the past few days. Just thought I'd share my findings with the community.

Oke, now iam officially sick of the weather system!
Now that iam in Pripyat i have to do the "one shot" mission (kill the mercenary leader with a sniper rifle), BUT there's a huge problem, because i get super foggy weather each time, it's so damn foggy that i cannot even see the end of the hallway of the building iam in!
I've tried to quickload my save there dozens of times in the hope that the weather will randomly change, nothing changed!
I've tried to reload 3 different saves, including autosaves and zone transition saves, still i get foggy weather every time.
When i loaded the autosave of when i arrived at the building i saw clear sunny weather, but as soon as iam given the SVD by the NPC Captain that's with me, i get foggy weather again!!!!

EDIT: iam just gonna edit the dynamic_weather_graphs.ltx file now, iam just so fucking sick of it!

UPDATE: oke it's not working to disable all the foggy weather in the dynamic_weather_graphs.ltx file and deleting the foggy files themselves makes the game crash, so iam officially stuck in the game at this mission!

Get the spawn mod from yasties tweaks thread, it has a weather change option.

Are you sure? Because many modders claim that nobody has ever been able to find a way to manipulate the weather...

EDIT: it worked, but somehow everything is really blurry now...

Actually, GOTZ had that weather option.

A clear sky sometimes comes with a rather nasty DoF effect, do you mean that? If yes, don´t worry, it goes away with the next weather update.

Exactly that yes, however, it's rather annoying if you have to snipe, because the blurry vision makes you see double :p

Just remember its Measly_twerps mod, not mine Moddb.com
I just added it as an all in one with my hard-quick save tweak in case people wanted to use both
