Dawn breaks over the lumber mill. The area is relatively quiet after the evening of inactivity.
The few employees that had been present over night were dispatched without hesitation.
Now, the few automated functions of the facility are warming up for a full day's work. But no one remains to tend the business at hand.
Hidden, well within the compound’s borders, the privately funded militia... or terrorists depending on which side you speak with... has started to build up their defensive perimeters.
They are fully aware that an elite special forces unit has taken a portion of the compound and is already establishing their foothold. The confrontation is approaching...
And then they receive word. A merc is in the facility. He doesn't join the special forces team, but offers to aid them for the right price. No matter. There is no time to worry about the roving soldier of fortune. Only enough time to prepare.
It will allow two official teams but a third independent group can choose to help either side they wish... The TOBP concept will allow teams to build up defenses and barricades before the round begins.

Oddly, our first attempt to post this news seems to have disappeared entirely.
First, check out the gallery for a fresh update of screen shots. We've added the final four images to our "early look at mr_temple". And we've added two new weapon renders... the m107 and the mac10.
Second, after some discussion, the team has decided to change our development group's name and purpose. The team leadership, both Legend017 and BiGToM have discussed making more projects and Legend went so far as to state his interest in a "studio" type of development team.
So, Special Forces Team is now Special Forces (SF) Studios.
In addition to that name change, we have moved our official website and created an SF Studios site. Both are now hosted on my site as our old host, though helpful, was prepared to start charging us for cut and paste website service. We wanted more visual, developmental, and expandable options for our websites.
The new sites can be found at Sfstudio.tk and Sfsource.tk
And finally, progress on this specific project has moved along quite nicely. And the mod team so far is up to 7 active and 1 inactive member. But we are still recruiting.
In particular we are looking for a good coder. Legend has been handling our source code thus far, but he would like some help... particularly with the Team Play Modes and more intricate parts of the game source code.
We also would like to have more mappers, sound editors, modelers, and texture artists. But truthfully, any good help is welcome. We want to make SF Studios and Special Forces: Source the best team and project that we possibly can.
If you want to join the team, drop a message to legend017@yahoo.com

pm me. cause their are some obvious flaws with the amount of content you want.
I'm not bashing.. but hasn't the special forces idea been overdone?
If it's done well, then no.
The special forces theme, as far as I'm aware, hasn't been attempted at such a scale: GIGN, KSK, Spetnaz (and maybe RCMP? /joke). Since this mod is only in its begining stages, the only thing it can really do now is promise, not deliver. All it requires for this mod to be well on its way, is to maintain momentum and not get mired down in the re-creation of a thousand different guns, - every mod had made an MP5. That's not to say guns are to be ignored in this game by any stretch, only that if they are created, they have to be done without getting lost with only gun concept art.
But if this mod steps past that, I see no reason why to be so cynical. Stepping past it is another issue in itself, easily accomplished by either a large team, or an organized team, and at least a quasi-professional team.
Phew, sorry that was long, it's just a very important concept that many fledingling mods get stuck on. MidiPrefix actually has a great blogpost on it.
