This is a (skirmish) mod created with the intention to bring the feeling of the Lord of the Rings movies into the game Battle for Middle Earth II, and add "realism" through re-balance and re-skinning of the entire game! Our forum can be found here. BETA 4.5 was released in Nov. 2007.

Nazgûl's involvement

What fans of The Special Extended Edition can know, behind the scenes of this prank, is that Nazgûl, creator of S.E.E., as in on the joke! Below you may view the concept art featured on the BfME3 page, created by Nazgûl himself. Despair not for BfME3 but rejoice because S.E.E. – Director’s Cut will have these incredible models as part of the Misty Mountains faction. Consider this BfME3 concept art a teaser for what you will see in the coming months. Stay posted for more news.

That is all I can tell you of Nazgûl’s contribution to the prank. View the rest of the BFME3 concept art on the official website. Is it possible that other mods hosted by The Third Age, Revora Forums have concept art featured there?

Just two things I dislike about this mod:

1. Range of the arrows shooted from the fortress and defensive towers is too long. Much longer then the range of the siege enqines.

2. Mumakil is pretty useless vs buildings. In the vanilla game he pretty much decimated every building within few seconds ( thats how it should be ) but in this mod he cannot even destroy a freakin farm.

Fix this two things and I will be heappy

P.S: But that will not happen because this mod is already dead. Ah well :/

I am one of the mappers for The Special Extended Edition

1. I did't know about this.
2. A Mumak is not a siege weapon. ;p

If I can recommend you a really good mod for this game ( well its actually for ROTWK but anyway ) then it will be Edain mod BUT there is one problem......its in german language so if you speak german or you do not mind that you will not understand a thing ( like me ;) then this is a mod for what you are looking for. Try it out.

P.S: Or wait a few months. Translation is on its way :)

the concept is good, but the balance not while i was trying to win mordor vs goblins ON EASY. it still took long times. The only way to win are rush tactics. the artillery range isn't right, i shot at guard towers, they just killed my catapults with flaming arows. i have seen enough whaterver others at this stage i dislike it!

It would be nice if someone just managed to fix the bug that corrupts the save files. That's the only thing that needs to be done! The rest is merely icing on the cake!

The team is still responding to forum posts so that means they are not dead.

As for the mod...I have no idea.

4.7 is taking so long that I'm actually worried that by the time they finish, the files will be too old to run on any modern computer lol
