I simply want to know, which Spetsnaz unit it suppouse to be. If GRU, GRU doesnt wear any balaclava, neither beret, except times when they need to dress like locals. I have seen pictures usually they wear simple beanie, or green bandana. So does VDV 45th Reigment.
Other spetsnaz units tend to dress more like police force with heavy helmets etc.
The best way to represent Russian special forces - is to add the wool hat (not ushanka) or the bandana.
(P.S. Balaclavas are the part of uniform of the police spetsnaz in Russia, the best way - to use heads of rebels from BF2SF)

well, all spec-ops in BF2 wears some hats like berets (chinese & MEC) or baseball caps... (USA)

My favorite is their heavy Maska-1/Zsh-1 steel helmets with those flip-down spark visors, they look badass
