SMOD: Tactical is a modification of the single-player SMOD(Super Mod) for Half-Life 2. This mod takes advantage of SMOD's robust customization capabilities to offer players realistic, tactical gameplay with real-world equipment and firearms in the style of games and mods like Rainbow 6, Operation Flashpoint, Red Orchestra, and Infiltration. SMOD: Tactical also allows you to play the Half-Life 2 campaign with SMOD: Tactical gameplay and weapons, with new events and enemies added to offer a different experience for those who have already played the campaign.
The CS:S Conversions of the Combine are by Tokotoko
Weapon and NPC models, sounds and more are community replacement models (see credits folder) or Valve Defaults
Script mods, model/texture alterations, and configuration tweaks are by mod authors Phatcat and Onemanshow.

Due to continuing technical difficulties with uploading the video here on ModDB, We have uploaded the footage to YouTube. We are sorry for the delay.
This video is raw, unedited early gameplay of one of the new community-made maps in SMOD: Tactical Delta 6, de_vegas_css, meant to show changes large and small. It demonstrates the new Bandage System, new sound and graphical effects, new weapon models, and various smaller gameplay changes.
Some notes from the video:
-Pay attention to the new player movement, notice how you no longer can sprint backwards or to the side. As well as the slight ironsight bob while moving.
-When you cancel bandaging your health will continue to regenerate at a lower rate. the process is interrupted if you take damage though.
-The typical bullet whiz sounds have been replaced by the "crack" of supersonic rounds.
-NPC gunfire sounds now changes accordingly depending on your distance as in Half-Life 2.
-There is now improved and more realistic muzzle flash effects that include smoke.
-Tracers have been removed for a less "hollywood" look.
-The Battlefield 2 voices for the soldiers have been removed. This is due to copyright concerns and we are currently seeking alternitive voice sets.
-Sprinting is no longer infinite.
Please note that all elements in the above video are subject to changes before release. elements of Delta 6 are tweaked on almost a daily basis as the gameplay, sounds and graphics are constantly refined.

Had a stupid question : Do we need SMOD for this ?
Yeah I know, I suck. But answer me please.
no you don't need smod to run this. this is standalone
no this is the full install so just download this and its all good
(buried)
WTF???? Yes you DO need Smod.!!!
do you have an extra pair of underwear?
All I can say is that this mod is continuously improving years after years and it only gets better! Good job to the old team and good job to the new one. Thanks for bringing us a new experience of the HL2 based gameplay !
May I ask you some thing ? :
Will you guys add a new "kinda-like-a-menu" thingy to easily choose the Gore level and ragdolls mod we (players) want ?
Old one was kinda simplistic and lack of options. I always had to type on console the same thing (exec ragdoll_real3 ; gore_**** ; ragdoll_**** etc etc) or creat a autoexec file but I'd largely prefer a menu, I guess we would all do.
Will a walking option be available ?
Also, will the A.I be abit improved and allow us to sneak abit (and not getting spotted that easily while crouch-moving or walking)
Thanks for taking your time reading and maybe answering. Bye!
first person is the only epic type of games!!!
Ive noticed that the 3rd person weapon positons are off from how they would be in real life are there any plans to correct this or is there even any way to correct this to make them more realistic for people like me who like to play in 3rd person?
