   About SMOD: Crylife

Main point of SMOD: Crylife is to merge Crysis with Half-Life 2, creating something completely new.

  To player dispose are:
-> NanoHev suit - Similar to Crysis nanosuit, with four remastered modes to fit the Half-life 2 universe

  -> 12 Well balanced and modifiable(via in-game menu) weapons + bonus 2 hidden weapons

-> Well-armed allies, who need no longer to be protected by the player

-> Remastered old HL2 campaign to play

-> Support for multiplayer maps from HL2:DM and Counter-Strike source maps (if Css and HL2:MP installed)

-> Movie-styled, eye-candy visual effects like, bloom, explosion air bubble, more spectacular explosions, ricochets and many more.

-> New campaign  During the development of SMOD: CryLife I've had many great ideas, which were impossible to add in to this game.
Now when I've allied with Deathshimort, and we've created Dev.Muffin I'm able to realize those ideas
in a completely new game.

We, Dev.Muffin hereby present you the latest "unofficial" update to SMOD40aq that hopefully become the future of SMOD.

SMOD Standalone is a "updated" version of SMOD client that takes advantages of some Orangebox engine features like LAA flag; it also fixes LUA and introduces a new file structure allowing for smaller 3-rd party  SMOD mods.

If you're into SMOD we recommend you to try it out, because this "update" is not made mainly for SMOD devs, but also users that love SMOD but are unable to play it due to Steam and Half-Life 2 updates.

Not In a official release, currently there's too much work done on current models to suddenly switch to new ones and re-do everything from scratch.

Crylife 2.0 will support addons, so it'll get probably released as an addon/replacement of stock weapons

You shouldn't load a map with the console unless it's map from HL2 and you're using "giveall"

I can't seem to find any way to change weapons via the mouse wheel which ends up just being insanely clunky. I can't even move back to the fists.

It's not even supported in 1.5.8 Why is that? It just adds tedium to the game.

Clearly, this is one of the best HL2 mods ever made (and one of the best I have ever played)! The high quality amply demonstrates how much work the developers put into the NanoHev suit (the third-person view is quite welcome in this regard) and weapon design (the gun sounds blew me away and the little things—like the gun flourish—were the icing on the cake). I also appreciated the subtle (or not-so-subtle) jokes, like the rather clever take on "Pick up that can!" ;) BulletTime works great, but I…
