“What would happen if we applied Earth 2150 to Homeworld?” -- Slipstream: The Price of Freedom is just that. Or, at least, was supposed to be just that. What started as a multiplayer combat simulator, ended as the first entry into the Slipstream universe.

is that glassed as in "pounded by orbital bombardment until the planetary crust is as one with the magma"? Or merely a Halo style melting of the upper layers of soil and civilisation?

you should do one where there is a planet exploded and it is just derbies and radiation

I'll try, but it's difficult to map texture onto small pieces of planet.

Plus, when planets explode, the preceding supernova (usually class 3) doesn't tend to leave much debris.
