Hey everyone, the time is here for me to unleash the first SkyFi screenshots, they are from a couple of days ago but I haven't had much time to get some new ones, not that they would look good anyway considering there's half-buildings here and there at the moment. I have been pushing myself to get this first release done and out by the end of next week so if I don't then it will only be a couple of days late at the most.
The first set of screens show the first new area, this is named Cheyenne, since it is the name of the mountain the Stargate is hidden under in the show (and also in this mod too). The entrance to the area is a Dwarven building at the base of the College of Winterhold and since it physically makes no sense that that would lead to this open area after going down a short tunnel I will be changing the interior of the tunnel in a later update that will show you go to a subway transit system built by the Dwarves, this is the best way I could do it as I came across complications doing it at the border and really don't want to hurt my head trying to figure it out.
This new area in particular will be a village holding all the people who will be working in the area (after you hire/find them of course). The buildings will be built for people as they move in so the area will look very bare to begin with, there will be shelters/ruined buildings in place of where they will go afterwards so you know roughly how the layout will look. The first version will only contain one or two new models for the Stargate and the DHD, the power source will be the same model as the Eye of Magnus, which you will have to find in the complex and activate it to bring the power back online, most of the lights will be powered by the Eye as well so expect to have to bring a few torches with you the first time. If I finish early I will try and get a short first world done for the release too, but don't hold your breath for that.
Here is a list of the features of the town when it is complete:
-Player Home with Spouse options
-Blacksmith including all the crafting stations (sells armour, weapons and materials)
-Alchemist, with alchemy table (sells ingredients and potions)
-Enchantist, with enchantment table (sells enchanted weapons/armour/jewelry, spells and staves)
-Baker (sells baked goods)
-Butcher (sells raw meats)
-Grocer (sells other foods)
-General Store (sells a bit of everything but less of the specialty goods above)
-Tavern (sells alcohol and can rent out a bed)
-Farm (farms a bit of everything)
-Mines (quite large with every type of ore)
-Pond in the village center for show
-Library (buys and sells books)
-Prison (for if you are naughty!)
And possibly more if I think of anything else a town would need to be self sustaining. There will also be a cave leading through to another area, this area will be a small woodland area with a river flowing through the cave into the pong in the village. This small area will include a fishing dock, a hunter camp and a wood mill with a house next to it. I may also include a Dwarven ruin and Ancient Nord ruin too, along with a small bandit fort to give reason for having guards in the town.
If anyone can think of any other things for me to add to the town then let me know, I do not expect to have any of the village NPC's done for the first release but will at least have a couple in the Stargate base in, the small separate area will most likely not be done for the first release either but I will try and see if I can. Final note - the mod will not be like how my Oblivion mod was planned, I will not be making it entirely modular, this is because I found it slowed me down quite a bit and I will have more freedom doing it this way.
